  1. My 7 foot St Croix Avid with my Shimano Stradic 2500 with 10 lb Power Pro, all day long
  2. I have a friend in Florida who stocked his pond with bass, then the next year put in red fin shiners. It has been a few years and the fish are HUGE. Sometimes I feel like we cherry pick when were out there but it is fun to catch bass with different presentations. BTW the pond isn't that small, so there are no gimmies.
  3. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D That is funny right there. I've had probably 20 Shimanos and have had problems with two Calistos and a Sonora
  4. This might be part of your answer. Perhaps the fish are beginning to get "used to you." It may be time to throw them, and yourself, a curveball. Give other lures a shot. Give the fish a different presentation. Maybe you're just in a dry spell and it might be time to fish new water or take a little time off. Fish for a different spiecies even. Yea I really agree with the above. I was a pond pounder throwing 3 different color senkos and the fish finally got lock jaw. I would go with a weightless trick worm to keep you above the weeds or start throwing a fluke. I started throwing more flukes, sluggo's and started increasing my fish counts. Also you may want to consider as previously mentioned to give that place a rest. Good Luck
  5. Great Idea. I would be all topwater

    Welcome
  7. I'd still throw jerkbaits. JMO
  8. I'm a chef. I break down enough fish in my work day. I just want to catch them and throw them back. When you have 50 lbs of Salmon, Ahi Tuna, Trout and other fish you get for the day, you get over it pretty quick.
  9. Blk/Blue Pig and Jig without a doubt. The spinnerbait though would be tough because of it's versatility
  10. Yea move on. RW that was some funny s&*^ right there.
  11. I say something all the time. I get so ticked when people catch dinks and think it's going to feed their families. Happens all the time out here. >
  12. IMO, This is the worst reel I have ever owned, I had 2 of them and the linewinder would stick. Save your money and by anything but that reel.
  13. I'm without my topwater plug rod for a week. Isn't that bad enough? Wow :-?
  14. All of the above. Sunglasses Lighter Asprin Crazy Glue Towels Something with a hook on it ;D (That was Funny) These are all the things I have most of the time but for a Tx it is all of the above
  15. The absolute best use of Gulp is to sell it to somebody that doesn't know that it is no good and use the money to buy Zoom worms. Seriously, I hate the stuff, I only catch catfish, bream, and snapping turtles with it. Not a single bass. Thats the best advice so far
  16. Well how does the bass feel when he is eating a bluegill? They are a little spiny. How about a duckling? When you hook a bass it is pretty solid around the mouth. Now gut hooking I can't imagine would feel that good. So next time your out ask him "how it feels"
  17. That's even better. We FALL every IQ test. ;D
  18. I can't believe how different our views on it are.. I'm amazing that you thought so highly of it. Just goes to show you, people have very different preferences. Mine is a 6'6 M Fast Action. I didn't mind it at first, but once I started getting more expensive rods, it went in my closet. I have 2 Scimatars and HATE them both equally. They have no feel. I like them for Redfishing and that would be it. I would take the NEW Lightining rod over the Shimano's for the money.
