Berkley Cherrywood Rods
I have had about 5 Cherrywoods, I would rather use those than an ugly stick. The new Lighting rods are great for a 30 dollar rod and it would be worth 10 bucks more for the LR IMO I also have a Berkley Tactix drop shot rod and it's ok, not as sensitive as I thought though

Need Help With Super Fluke
I've always though it was where the hook is in the bait because I know if the hook is not centered it will dart to that side. What kind of hook are you using?

What was your first rod and reel?
I had an old Daiwa spinning reel and an orange rod is all I remember. It was a catfish rod I think

What's your favorite peice of fishing equipment?
I would say my Shakespeare 7 foot excursion. I bought it when I was having my rods shipped to Florida, Wally World special for 20 bucks and have caught a milion fish on it. Sometimes I feel bad that I dont use it as much as my higher end rods.

Yum & Gulp vs. Zoom
I fished a lot of Redfish Tx's while I was living in Florida. My partner swears by it and a lot of the other people we fished against used it religiously. I tink it is way overrated, granted you may catch some fish but they were generally small in my experience. The freshwater product is garbage. Like everyone has mentioned it drys up way to fast and the bait has a terrible texture. IMO I caught some fish nite fishing one time with rattles in the tail but I caught more using a senko with a rattle. The rattle was an experiment and I fished that way for a year to see if the Gulp was more productive. So IMO Gulp is a waste of money.

best magazine?
thats what i say! definitley not north american fisherman. that magazine sucks big time. not informational in the least bit. they also have vedry few bass fishing articles...and when they do they suck. in fisherman at least has good articles, but only about one is on bass fishing. so i'd go with bassmaster (never read it tho, but its all about bass) but your best bet it to save money and read bass resource!!! North American is the worst. I used to like Bassmaster but not anymore. There is plenty of info on this web page and the internet to get you what you need.

standard rod and reel setups need advice
Abu Garcia is a fine reel maker. Don't get caught up in the hype of having the most expensive stuff. I fish with a lot of guys and somewhere in their rod locker is an Abu reel. It may be just for Carolina rigs, but they are usually there. The higher end reels have their merit but I don't know if fishing is your occupation. I prefer mostly 7 foot rods. You can find great rods used all over. There is a guy on this page with a Gblank for a 110.00 bucks and I dont know why that hasn't sold yet. I would definatley recommend a Shimano Stradic over any Quantum reel. I think Quantums suck and I know I will hear about it from people on this page. I am not a die hard Shimano person either I think most of their spinning reels suck as well but the Stradic for the money and it's going on close out everywhere is awsome for the money.

Spinning or Casting?
I get a lot of crap from my buddies down South that I used to fish with because I use spinning gear. I'm more acurate and I love fishing plastics. I grew up in California and live here now, and if you aren't using a 3 foot swim bait, it's about the spinning. I do feel that baitcasters have their place. Flipping heavy cover, Jigging, etc. I got really good with spinning equipment when I fished a Redfish Nation season. So it's still my favorite but knowing how to use a baitcaster is also crucial as well.

Tackle boxes
AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH Nah,....In all seriousness, I keep all the bags in one central mack daddy box. It's a German made box I got about 6 years ago and what is really trick about it, is that it also doubles as a rod locker. My car is commonly reffered to by my friends as "The tackle Box with wheels" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Thats funny. I was googling German tackle companies. I use a soft bag. I have about 500 Plano 3700's I just move things around accordingly. I did have one of those Wal Mart beast bags but I think I lost one of my kids in one. Soft Side IMO

Casting Weightless Plastics with a Baitcaster
Take the Callisto and tie to the end of the Citica rod. Cast as far as you can when the reel sinks cut the line and stick with the Citica. The brake control sux on the Callisto, it is a all show no go reel.

2-piece rod recomendations?
OK before everyone flips out. Check the new Shakespeare Synergy. It's 20 bucks and much better then the Convergence. I do own a Convergence but were talking 2 piece inexspensive. Anyways the guides are aluminum and the rod is much lighter than the Convergence. You can pick them up at Wally World. They had their old line called the expedition it was 20 bucks 2 piece 7 foot rod and I must have caught a 1000 fish on it. Just a thought and if it breaks So What.
