  1. When they came out a couple of years ago they put 2 hooks in the packages. They were 5/0 actually. This was at Dick's in Florida.
  2. I have had the old lightining rods, several actually. I feel they are to thick and dead feeling. I have caught fish on them but they would not be my first choice. Now the new ones are grerat. I bought one for drop shotting and I love it. Now for the price range I would definatley recommend the Lighting rod. If you have a couple of extra bucks buy something from ST. Croix.
  3. Watermelon Red Flake June Bug Bubble Gum Black Blue Flake Red Bug Those are my general colors
  4. I use tube weights with rattles Texas rigged.
  5. Bigger Baits=Bigger Bass Yes you can catch big bass on small baits but bigger baits will yield bigger bass.
  6. I had the same problem tying clinch/Tri line knots so I went to the palomar. Even though with braid I could ty it like a champ but with mono I was a retard.
  7. Anyone using the skip gap hooks by Gamakatsu. I just picked some up and I'm curious what you guys think?
  8. I'm glad some of you mentioned Culprits and the Manns Jelly Worm, remember the Auger tail? I have caught a ton of bass on senkos but my biggest were on tubes and trick worms. I think everyone says they catch a ton of fish on them because thats all they use. I fished a tx a year ago with a guy and all I used were senkos and he used and old school black and blue paddle tail worm and triple limited, won the tournament and the jack pot and I caught zilch. So now I try not to get to reliant on this majical bait. This is a question for RW do you think its possible for bass to wise up to this bait? I know in California bass get spooky when a lot of the same baits are thrown.
  9. I love Suffix Siege. It is my favorite line. I have yet to try the Elite though.
  10. Save an extra couple bucks and get the Stradic.
  11. The new Lightining Rod for 35 bucks is a great rod. I am talking about the newer model. I got one from BPS about a month ago and it is pretty good. A 6'6" would be a good size medium action. A good universal starting rod with a bunch of versatility.
  12. Couldn't have said it better myself. The subtle movement as it falls is what makes this bait such a fish catcher. If you T-rig it with a bullet weight it kills the action, where a keel weighted hook does not. I also agree. You can use a Mustad Tube hook, I think they are heavier than a Gamakatsu.
  13. Great advice. You also want to look for little pockets on the shoreline. The worm Idea is what I would throw. Most guys here would probably throw a senko.
  14. Senko Jig and Pig Blk/Blue Fluke
  15. That is the best advice. This bait is a killler bait.
  16. If you are reffering to "Tube" baits, they are very productive. I use them a bunch out here. You can also pick up a box of them at BPS and it has a bunch of good universal colors.
  17. Probably just fishing on weekends. : ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  18. Now to be specific, "good all-around spinning combination." I'll suggest the Avid AS68MXF matched up with a Stradic 2500FH. Spool on Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (11.9 lb test) and you are good-to-go!
  19. I agree. Most everyone here has keyed in on the dragonflies, but the bluegill imitation may have been the ticket. A ratt-l-trap may have been the ticket here, just like bass feeding on shad. Another possibility would be a baby bass imitation.
  20. Welcome
  21. That was a good question. Great answer and idea.
