  1. have you been to lynn lake in a park near a high school?
  2. LOL man Ace's pose is SO FUNNY!!! yeah my fish was a fatty but it was not over 16in(more like between 14-15in) ;D and it was a blind in one eye probably an older fish i like how i cant buy a fish on a shaky head but your girl has caught three :-[ she IS the local finesse guide ;D fun day bud, priscilla gave us some major competition today and i like your new avatar(who's that goofball winking in it though ;D) and its not your fault you can only catch fish out of the highly pressured waters
  3. there are loads of smallies around teddy roosevelt island but the place annoys me with all the tourists, but when i went thats all i would go for
  4. hey hey i fish those in tournaments alot too lets keep it a secret :-X but it would be great if there was some way that i could throw into thick grass and the hook would not snag any grass have any of you guys invented it?? any method would be greatly recieved :
  5. they make 10inch trick worm imitators :-X
  6. LOL good thing you got that kicker ;D ;D sounds like a lot of fun even though it was tough fishing makes a tourney interesting you guys pay for big fish? ;D ;D ;D
  7. gambler ten inch worms are cheap like 3 bucks for ten and they are slimmer than a power worm if thats what your looking for
  8. seen guys come to the scales with 6-8 pounders?we talking the potomac or st. johns river? ;D 6lbers i can believe but anything over that cant be caught with any regularity espeacially on the potomac. You must have gotten into tournements with all the local sticks my suggestion find a small club that isnt full of local pros I have fished with a club where this time of year last year i was ounce off big fish with a 3.5 lber and i asked the guy that took me if it was an off week he said no 10lbs usually wins in the summer and big fish is 3.5 to 4 lbs i suggest you find a club like that oh yeah and try 1ounce flipping weight 4/0 superline ewg hook and a chigger craw or any craw like bait on a flipping stick with heavy braid should get you bigger fish
  9. are there waterdogs in your area?
  10. I guess we got a little close put that spot was like a crowded intersection, very tight each way and matt picked the way that gave us a greater berth around the boats, Gerkin could have waved us by him the other way around but it is completely our fault I feel really bad since he was contending to win :-[ the funny thing is in the morning we were alot closer to him, (each of us fishing one side of a cove than) than at the final minutes of the tourney, and when you mentioned c-rigging thats what I thought you meant at first. Some of the nuances of these tournement etiquette rules are lost on me dont think i should fish one by my self :-? I am just a tard
  11. haha "go back to jersey you moron" ;D name the movie that quote came from and I'll be very surprised
  12. Sandy Run and lake ridge are pretty close as well but dont just listen to me I dont know which way is up or down from fountainhead lol ;D Slipping away LOL oh well back to college. By this time next year some of us will be running not fishing to get ready for enrollment in vmi,not going to back some country club/school : oh yeah and the bite is usually good in the summer in the occoquan river from my experiance but i was with someone that is afraid of the heavy grass mats :, I fished a club tournement as a non-boater last year and once the sun got high my boater drove over there to fish the marinas, wacky rigged senkos in dark colors gets um
  13. wow word gets around fast ;D I fell asleep at 7:30 last night so I've been out of it but from matt's story it would seem like we had the win locked up until he missed that fish. All the bites he missed were either VERY light or a funny bite. and when your fishing a 7in senko c-rigged its tough ;D Plus he is not telling you the one keeper i got was not even hooked!! it held onto my tube all the way to the boat and matt netted it. Plus Matts 4lber looked like he was gonna die the whole day so weighing him in was a bonus. All in All it was a very good day Note dont believe what Matt says HE is a Stick!!! I cant give him enough credit for his fsihing
  14. man You had the TIDAL RECORD on your line!!!!! Thats gotta be worth a couple thousand dollars in sponsorship money :o I couldnt take that sitting down or even with a priest
  15. Naw that isnt the problem you could have just gotten heavier Spiderwire I have 65lb power pro on one of my spinning rods just for that same reason. You could go back there with lighter line and a beetle spin though and try to finesse that fish It's rough but you still got a lot of fishing left in ya ;D
  16. you talking about BASS pond because that had dead crappie with a few 2+ crappie and a bunch 0f 1s and 1.5lbers and there is not any vegatation at lynch pond(which is close to BASS pond) to spray for so of course the fish are fine, I do not think the ponds are connected. I believe that lynch is the pond you speak of :-X
  17. yeah when i saw the sign for the spraying of water chestnuts I knew it would be trouble. Whats even worse is that this is not the first time this has happened in that neighborhood, Down the block a trophy crappie population was killed at bass pond :-X an ironic name though
  18. Pigsticker replied to T-rig's topic in Fishing Reports
I think that is made by lunker City or at least LC has something that looks like that Nice Fish BTW
  19. Definitely soft plastic and jigs year round, your just changing spots for the most part but.... I throw a zoom finesse and trickworm alot more in the summer than i do in the spring at least in the middle of the day, mainly because rigged weightless texas it is alot more weedless and is a more bouyant to stay on top of the summer time bottom gunk that i hate >
  20. I would say a 6'6'' to 7foot mh spinning rod because a medium is a little too whippy, this covers alot of tactics, weightless rigging, wacky rigging, shaky heading, and light t-rigs, also the mh gives you more back bone to set the hook than a medium and a 7ft heavy fast action or a 6'6'' heavy extra fast action baitcaster because it is better for heavy cover and more backbone for hooksets
  21. I voted stick with what they bite mainly because 90% of the time I am already fishing slow working a small area so there is no need to to slow down unless i start really deadsticking senkos or what not
  22. to second what fishfordollars said use heavy braid(50+) it makes it a whole lot easier. i can barely do it with flouro and it is ineffective, with braid it is a different story
  23. i think we're on the same page, i never understand these same things, I have heavy braid on a 7ft heavy spinning rod and have no problem getting big bass out of grass mats, i dont even set the drag, its tightened all the way down i really get mad when the owner of the private pond I'm not supposed to be fishing at gets smart with me like"you cant fish here to many turtles"or "you cant fish here but you can try that puddle across the road i hear theres good fishing" oh wait that has nothing to do with what you are talking about :-X
  24. yeah crappie are a big problem to pond bass, instead stock some striper and you'll get only larger bass:
  25. docks, docks and more docks thats the easy answer.there are always bass on the docks try and find ones that are relatively deeper baits may i suggest anything by gary yamamoto try the flappin hog 2 it is a nice bait for numbers<rigged weightless or t-riged with a 2/0 or 3/0 hook
