  1. 8 or 12 inch hudds in holdover patt. or were you throwing the rago tool??
  2. "Umm, that fish isnt a pike. Its a chain pickeral. And a pickeral and a walleye arent even almost the same fish. Two different families. A walleye is actually a perch (family Percidea). I spose Canadiens just have some odd local slang." hahahaha I like it Urban, good stuff I wasn't going to say anything but you did it nicely, Chain Pickeral
  3. Nice pickeral ;D I love those guys when i have braid on, when i am using fluoro or throwing a swim senko(they always bite the tails off) it is a different story > I dont understand why some people do not like them aisde from them tearing up line. They are a fun surprise and add some Diversity to a fishery i agree with leatherface some people love catching pickeral more than bass and fish for them exclusive with cranks, spinners, inline spinners etc. Mutilating/torturing any fish like that is cruel and sick if a fish needs to die such as an invasive species it should be done respectfully
  4. pm matt strykul (the kids good) ;D ;D naw i hear matt has been doing alot of ponding hopping lately So i think he is in the same situation as you
  5. The swimming senko IMO is a more exciting way to fish, I love fishing senkos and throw them more than anything else (90% of the time)but have started to stop using them completely. Even working a senko quickly on a wacky rig does not beat swimming a swimming senko The SS is a fantastic grass edge/cover edge and is excellant when there is sparse cover and you do not want a senko sitting in unproductive areas for 30 secs or longer. for catching fish, swim senko but for larger fish, senko but if only active bass are biting always a SS. I voted the swim senko just for its abilitiy to produce numbers (we already know senkos will catch big bass
  6. I dont want to sound like crazy or that im commiting over kill on line size but, I use 65 lb braid power pro on a spinnig rod, yet i do have a 7ft hvy ex. fast action spinning rod and i have a very large quantum pti energy 40 models that are massive. I havent had any problems (much more problems with flouro) but hybrid line that RW is in love with(j/k) ;D is a fantastic line and is a better choice when line size and visablity is an issue
  7. those spikes should banned but just for tards like me :
  8. huh i must have been imagining things again ;D oh is that a speaker on your jon in the catfish picture? that is pretty cool if you were blasting music while fishing
  9. LOL love the your "buddies" Nice fish sounds like a solid week of fishing The dam picture looks like curtis but i know it cant be, no timber You look very familar did you work at a circuit city at bailey's X-roads?
  10. um if I could chose anyone it would Mike long and Rob Belloni(this guy does great reviews on swimbaits and tackle) on there home waters in cali. I would love just watching these guys fish let alone fish with them,
  11. hmmm, yamamoto hula grubs(forget the price shouldnt be too much) rigged either on a light t-rig or jighead 7in ribbbontail worms, can be from anywhere, cheap ones are culprit and powerbait(at least cheaper than senkos) t-rigged weightless on spinning or weighted on baitcasting I would have to say creme worms in that earthworm tone wacky rigged or rigged with creme's prop rig then a small jig (3/8 and below) with a sweet beaver as a trailer(beaver from reaction innovations, and the jig from where ever a cheap model is a booyah but i dont throw those
  12. white, chartruese and/or junebug colored senkos 4-5 inches. Throw these on a wacky rig and work them pretty fast(as fast as they can without coming out of the water) along edges.
  13. 2/0 or 3/0 straight shank gamakatsu or i like eagle claw but thats for the price. i dont hold on to them too long anyways
  14. i have that exact rod and it does the job, mainly throw light wacky rigs, shakey heads and light jig head w/grub. has a alot of play in the tip which is nice for casting. Has a nice backbone to it, but sometimes i wish it had more, it is a good rod if you get it on sale but i would recomend a carrot stick not only for price but quality
  15. #8 flouro unfishable on spinning rod? what are you using ice fishing tackle ;D j/k i have used it is decent not unfishable but i rather use seagur. Now 12 lb test on a spinning rod now thats unfishable but i still manage. what was happening with the #8 coils? i ahve that probelm with the 12 on spinning just start out throwing a heavier bait then switch to lighter stuff, i dont know the physics behind it but it works with pesky line
  16. i have never liked beer i would rather drink soda but my favorite drink is a Sambuca milkshake blended with a banana thicker the better
  17. when i go out i either want to fish by myself real serious to maximize bites or with like three other people to maximize fun, i dont like fishing with just one other person unless i am really on the fish or at one of my favorite places to fish
  18. 6in senko junebug or pumpkin seed w/black and green flake when i go out i usually am t-rigging, wacky-rigging or weightless t-rigging so that bait covers what i throw the most and what has caught me my best bass. or I a 1.5 ounce jig black purple and blue never caught a fish on it but i sorta have a crush on this bait so that would be fun to throw for a lifetime i would for sure finally catch a bass on it LOL
  19. I dont know about the hudd but maybe you should check out Mattlures Swimbaits, he has great baits for the east coast and i think are cheaper than a hudd. He has bluegill, baby bass, crappie, redear sunfish, yellow perch etc. etc. swimbait patterns.
  20. On any lake with docks those should be the places you hit hard when you have little confidence( like you getting discouraged) or little experiance on a lake. They almost always will be bass on the docks. I have a spot that is good in the fall but i do not know how good it is now although i hear the dike three area is productive. But mainly stick to the docks with shakeyheads, wackyworms, and jigs (green tones for all of them ) Hope you catch alot ;D
  21. their extreme rods are pretty good but their below 50 dollar ones are pretty junky imo
  22. Pigsticker replied to Castamasta's topic in Fishing Tackle
a friend of mine rigged it on a split shot rig with 10lb test mono and a 3/0 to 4/0 hook, i think he did that because it is lighter than the senko and he wanted it to stay on the bottom dont know if he caught any on that, but i have used them and not felt much weight different, or had any times when i am tossing it weightless and am waiting 2 minutes for it to sink to the bottom. It i s a excellant subsitute in every aspect imo i like the scent on trick sticks better than senkos, makes me want to eat those trick sticks
  23. Yeah i know went to walmart and bought one of those orange rods forget the name (celery stick?) and for a cheap rod it is pretty decent but i'll stick to berkely lightings as my favorite cheap rod. LOL j/k seriously you get what you pay for, and the jump from a cheap combo to 300 plus combo is a big one, but a lot of good equipment sells for a relatively cheap price, like shimano rods(not talking about cumaras) some of those are like sub a hundred dollars and really nice. anything above a say 700 dollar combo is probably just showing off (cough*cough* RW), ;D j/k or its just a mental confidence thing
  24. just my price LOL funny stuff, anyways i'm surprised you havent been able to get a check flippin or at least be a contender must be ten times harder than i thought and i thought it already was the toughest tourney series in NOVA, do you fish the occoquan alot flippin? or just go to the tournament on a whim like those goofy strykul brothers LOL j/k note the best strykul brother is the youngest, that kids a stick no lie
  25. Matt, i like the picture i wonder what chump took that : flipin4it i would toot your horn for ya but it would cost you like 14 bucks lol :-/ ;D
