  1. NICE FISH hmm what? LC that first fish is long between 6.5-7.5 probably 7lbs like you said second fish between 4-5 most likely 4.5+ IMO and that you never really show any small ones get the length and girth next time and you should be able to get a good estimate plus it is fun to compare measurements between bass, BTW I'm liking the look those glasses are great ;D
  2. thats how you do it, very smart It had alot of commercials Branuss yup thats whatcha gotto do, relax and watch a goofy on tv movie, way better than reality tv IMO :-X ;D
  3. yup I watched batishop I liked it alot, I took it for what it was and enjoyed it. Also I got a kick out of the "baitshop" having culprit stickers everywhere including the COFFEE MACHINE LOL soo goofy and hilarious Should have given Preston Clark a speaking role/ starring role ;D
  4. I bought a kistler magnesium spinning rod 6'9'' ML fast action rod back in '06, good rod for wacky rigs, shakey heads, and weightless zoom finesse worms and I fell in love with having no cork on the upper portion of the rod but with all the other rods companies I do not think they are worth it. 150 for a carrot stick or 160 for an airrus compared to my 190 dollar rods makes me sick when I think about it > never again, carrot stick or airrus
  5. A very good trailer,I don't like how there is only 7 a pack at 5 dollars a pack online and 7bucks in stores a little expensive for a trailer but well worth it like all gycb products but I like to rig it weightless on a 3/0 ewg hook used as a drop bait you get a very good profile and a nice combo between power-finesse
  6. Thats a pretty cool theory, makes a lot of sense but have you fished golf course ponds with heavy vegatation, do the bass still cruise? great work though
  7. Usually if my bait is flying back at me I turn around or put one of my hands over my eyes you never know what could happen that is a horribly tragic story :'(
  8. I do not think the drag is the problem,If you are using flourocarbon you cannot tie a palomar knot it will snap all the time, save yourself some pain and learn to tie a san diego jam knot oh and wet the line before you tie it
  9. I hear you flechero, i have been stopped by local police and game wardens, What I HATE is that they all sneak up on you and wait for you to incriminate yourself!!! Me and anyone I fish with are never doing anything wrong but it SCARES me senseless to turn around and see a guy just standing there. One time I was "checked" by local policeman who was checking a complaint of man who said people were fishing on his land The cop was a local for years and knew the pond was public and the owner of the adjacent land knew of the public access. Yet still the cop comes sneaking up on my dad, luckily I was on the other side the pond and shouted to my dad the guy was sneaking up on him,the cop looked pretty embarassed because we had done nothing wrong and that the warden checks licenses when asked what he was checking us for, he said"if we were fishing with the proper equipment" I guess he thought we were bow fisherman : he then also told us about the complaint and we said we were on public land then he left > waste of everyones time :-/
  10. Looks likes crosspointe to me I could be wrong though :-X might need to hit that place up again, good thing I know a guy
  11. most people fish with worms and such a lot of those guys are on this board because thats the general population of bass anglers Now lets see you ask a bunch of trophy bass hunters from nor cal and south cal what their favorite baits are, for sure no "10 cent worms" are on that list yeah there might be worms on that list but they are hand poured worms that are 3-5 dollars for ONE worm oh and a cheap rod with great baits will get you good action you just wont land as many fish, better that than never get a big bite from a 4in senko knockoff that doesnt sink on a steez rod
  12. I know exactly who it is you sly dog, it was Mrs. Tibbets, your just a home wrecker!!! ;D ;D ;D : and she was shaking a shakey head all day during your prefish right? :
  13. no ones using heavier wire hooks?? I use 5/0 gama ewg Superline hooks for the 5inchers and sometimes the 6inchers, but usually for anything bigger 6/0 gama ewg monster hooks I found out that the monster hooks come in 5/0.....I might never use superlines again except for their 4/0s 2/0 and 3/0 eagle claw straight shanks for wacky rigging, I never have a wacky rig hook long(snags) so i use cheaper ones, work fine
  14. hmmmmm..... I think alot of anglers disagree with you 3:16 has been catching big bass for a number of years and is not in the poor house
  15. flappin hogs as trailers get EXPENSIVE rather get brushhogs and baby brush hogs as trailers, great bait and relatively cheap, sweet beavers and smallie beavers are great too but are somewhat expensive for a trailer
  16. Man you left all the good parts, i love the ligiments and cartilage, thats wasteful and sure you took bites from 51 wings but didnt eat 51 whole wings
  17. fluoro is great line, strong, near invisible, abrasion resistant etc. etc. but you will get random breakoffs if you do not retie every fish! and probably after so many casts. unless you fish in Crystal clear lakes i would switch to braid for soft plastics, it is idiot proof, get some kitchen sheers to cut it, tighten your drag all the way down so it will not budge, never have to play a fish again just horse it in you also can start experimenting with other soft plastics, brush hogs, trick worms, fat ikas if you've had success with senkos you'll have success with these
  18. 3/0 gamakatsu g-lock style hook.......maybe invest in some parasites that should help that, I've never tried them, never had a problem like this, but i have had knock off senkos that were too hard and couldn't hook-up, all you have to do is work the hook back and forth through the hook EXIT point to improve hook ups.
  19. call them up and you will have a free replacement no matter what they are my favorite rods just because of their great customer service and guarentee telling them you broke the rod on a fish only will further ensure you get a replacement(even though you were already getting it) ;D
  20. from what i hear there are some big bags brought in from fountainhead during the spawn 30lbs probably not. 25lbs(5 fish) with a possibilty of something higher? yes but most likely on a weekday with out all the tournement guys all over the place Can you catch 50-100 fish an outing at fountainhead? No but I think you can catch 20-30 SOLID fish with a nice portion past 4lbs For the record fountainhead is not one of my favorite places to fish at all but it is a nice fishery when your with someone that knows it well and all my fountainhead info is secondhand from Matt Strykul
  21. when I see guys around me throwing a hollow bodied frog with a stiff rod and braid they will get 1 fish for every three bites on average WITH the legs/skirts trimmed without the trimming maybe 1 fish for every eight bites if that, All the hits on these are by twitching the frog and then the bass hit it when it stops Now with a soft bodied zoom horny toad me and my friends on average get 3 fish for every 4 bites, just by reeeling in at a constant pace like a buzz bait Just my observations Note the 1 for 3 ratio is a AVERAGE I have seen 4/4 3/4 4/5 ratios but have seen alot of 0/3 1/4s as well
  22. 15 dollars? you shoulda just bought the heaviest braid you could find(50lbs+) dont think you will have problems with breaking
  23. LOL tim duncan? so many to choose from you pick duncan, I like it though. Your not allowed to sit on the same bench as Greg Ostertag ;D anyways it is just one tourney trail like what has been said not the death of the amatuer plus they still let in a few federation anglers right?average joe six tooth is not finished yet
  24. no not really just wondering if you had been there ;D
  25. nitro was that at lake curtis? sounds like it, if so i got some lake specific tips for ya
