I don't consider it "cheating", but I do think it makes bass fishing easier if you know where the bass are.

The Mossyback graphite is a GL3/IMX blend. They are closer to the IMX side in weight and sensitivity, but not quite up to the level of an IMX.

The mimimum size is 14" in NC. The state record is over 20 lbs, but a 5 pounder is a nice fish and anything over 10 is a hawg.

My favorites are the Sand Flea and Sweet P, but I also like the Z-Flat and Wobbler a lot. Simmons has the best selection of Zooms by far.

I only use baitcasters. It's more personal preference than anything. You should probably try one out just to see if you like it. Even if you didn't, you could sell it and get most of your money back.

Any reel with around 20-23 IPT. I use a Daiwa Alphas which has a 5:8:1 ratio and 22 IPT.

I switched to Owner because the points on Gamakatsus bent too often. I don't have a problem paying an extra two quarters for a pack of hooks that last longer.
