Suffix Elite.
It's my favorite mono line that I have tried. It casts great and has good abrasion resistance. It is a monofilament and has a good amount of stretch, so it isn't as sensitive as flourocarbon or braided lines. Another option is Sufix Seige which is stronger and more abrasion resistant but has a little more memory and doesn't cast quite as well as Elite.

NC Va boys
I don't know what bodies of water you fish, but the spawn around here is usually finished by mid April. In May and June the fish have already spawned and are just starting to move out into deeper water. With the weather we are supposed to have this weekend and next week, it should really get the bass biting.

Would you eat a pot bellied female bass full of eggs in the spring?
Sure, I'll put her in the bucket next to all of the other fish I caught with a casting net. :

swim baits....
It's a good lure that catches fish and has quality components. You don't need more than a MH rod to throw it, unlike the bigger swimbaits. It has a pretty unique action that you can see in the video on this page: http://www.***.com/descpageSWMJACKALL-JG.html Overall I would recommend it.

Loud vs. Quiet Crankbaits
I think it has more to do with the amount of fishing pressure than the water clarity. Bodies of water with a lot of pressure usually get hammered by crankbaits with rattles, and if you go there and use a crankbait without rattles you can do very well. I'm not saying you won't do well using a crank with rattles, but I think bass shy away from them after a certain point. The only time I think rattles are important to use are when the water is extremely muddy.

"senko" or knockoff setup
The Kanami baits aren't cheaper, you just get less per bag for less money. I use a Curado E7, G Loomis MBR783 GLX, and 12 lb. Berkley 100% Fluorocarbon. I'm going to try out Sunline Sniper FC this year and see if I like it.

Diawa Tierra rods???????????//
My friend has the 7 ft. MH model and I've fished it a few times. It's a decent rod for the money IMO, the sensitivity isn't great, but it has good backbone.

Of All The New Baits by Netbait This Year, What One Do You Like The Most?
I bought a couple packs of Baby Mad Pacas to try out later in the year. I haven't fished them yet, but they look like they will be a good bait.

RoboWorms
They're my favorite soft plastic worms to fish on a shakey head, and they're also great on a Texas rig or drop shot. Roboworms are hand poured and they have great action. I like the 6" Straight Tail in Green Pumpkin Neon or Warmouth the best.

slow fall jigs?
The jig trailer you choose will have a big impact on the jig's fall rate. A trailer with a big profile will create more resistance and cause the jig to fall slower. If you want a slow fall, try a light weight jig (1/4 oz. or so) with a GYCB Flappin Hog or Berkley 4" Chigger Craw.

Tackle Shop
My favorite tackle shop is only 2 or 3 miles away. It is a mom and pop shop that has a great selection of tackle. It's owned by nice people that greet you when you walk in. I like it better than any of the big chain stores.

No breaks on Sunday - anyone got tips I am game.
Try some flat sided cranks and suspending jerkbaits. They seem to produce a lot better than soft plastics this time of year.
