Yeah, those Shakespeare troll motors did suck juice. Motors are more efficient this century....my 16' deep v takes about 6 hrs to run down with my 12v motor. I'm also thinking that a 12/32 jon's wt. capacity is what- maybe 450#, ..6 batt. @ 60#, would leave you and all gear at 90#. Take away 40# of tackle and you need to weigh 50#. All i'm sayin...

I bought my Grumman (alum.) new in 1996. It has never been garaged, and I had to replace the floor / decks once so far. If I ever replace flooring again I will go with vinyl and not carpet. Same if I ever buy another new one. Buying before retirement is good thinking......

Raul, you're not fishing with an old, skirtless hula popper....they are in 1 of 3 huge suitcases stored away that you can't even find. You know, your old topwater suitcase, along with your collection of BURKE Flexplugs, Zorro Aggrivators, and Cordell Crabs, remember? I think Jann's Netcraft sells these skirts also. I hated the big trebles on Hulas, they tangled too much for my taste. And you don't need a skirt or feathered treble on a popper.

My new Colorado is 4 months old, and it will be a couple of weeks before I pull my 16' Grumman (fully loaded 2500#). I assume there will be no problem...rated for 7500#. V6 ext. cab it's a sharp looking truck that I think is overpriced, but I don't really need a full size.

No longer live in Detroit, but in Livonia now. I fish Orchard Lk. the most, but Middle straights, Wolverine, Cedar Isl., Belleville, Sylvan, and a few others. My 16' Grumman will see lake ST. Clair a few times this year (on weekdays). A-Jay..you stay up north- we don't need you comin' down here harassing our fish.

Go to the races and see what it is all about , and see what they run. As you can tell from the responces so far, you could probabally buy used and get more for the money. Most people in r/c end up upgrading and have old stuff they don't use anymore.
