  1. I bought a half a dozen of them for $2 each about 5 yrs. back. I never caught a fish on them (my fault- i don't topwater much), repainted 2 of them, and took the feathered trebles off the rest to put on other baits.
  2. RW is always talkin' YO!ZURI, but don't catch a record fish on it cuz IGFA won't allow it.
  3. cart7t - don't forget your Burke "buckshot" worms, and the Lindy tails..man are we old...
  4. Looks like a Jann's Netcraft to me.
  5. I haven't tried banjo minnows, but i've seen Babe W. (on tv) catching monster pike on the biggest ones. Of course he was at some canadian lake, in the middle of nowhere, with very little fishing pressure, at the prime time.
  6. I used to vacation on Otsego lk., and fished some of the other lakes in the area, but never heard of kassuba. Good luck.....
  7. I was going to say Bandit & Rapala, but i was beaten to it.
  8. I didn't have a scale at the time, but a 20.5" lm on a super shad rap (perch) on my birthday (july 16)2001. 19.5" sm (char./whi. 4"flash) that weighed 4.8# in sept. '07.
  9. He played for the jets last season, he wasn't always a packer. That's like saying montana was always a 49er, unitas always a colt, etc. Please brett - STAY DOWN , end it and goodbye!
  10. You need a dedicated rod for football jigs? Seems like cabin fever is reaching new heights....
  11. Sounds like an open-hook rod, not for t-rigs or weedless baits. Probabally great for jigheadding grubs, worms,& tubes.
  12. I throw spinnerbaits from 1/4 to1 oz., and on spinning and baitcasting tackle, slow-rolled, jigged, medium fast, and burn them. I guess anywhere from 4.3 to 6.1 : 1. If i had a 7:1 i would use that too.
  13. I would (do) use a 5.1 . If you ever get a chance to try an old 3.8 to 1 Quantum Crankin' reel, please do so. It makes a dd22 feel like a zara spook! The drawback is that your wrist gets dizzy after a couple of hours. Hmmm - a battery powered 3.8....i think i'm on to something..
  14. Don't be afraid IDbasser, give it a try. You really can't mess up a lure to the point it won't catch anything. Your problem will be that you don't have enough to paint.
  15. Hi Shawn - welcome to the site. This place is alot of fun and helps me thru the winter. Mark
  16. I've tried them all also, and now only use Owners in every size they make.
  17. I love throwing cranks. I love throwing spinnerbaits. And my char/whi flash, a blk/grape culprit 7.5" worm, but i've become partial to dropshotting. Deep weeds or dropoffs, or humps, you just never know what species you'll catch, or how big they will be.
  18. Are you "slamming" bridge pilings above or below the water?
  19. I still use my old Tacklelogic wrap. I can cram about 40 in there.
  20. Killer lure for me. I also had 2- natural and a chartruese, and loved these baits. I still have them although the treble got ripped out. Kind of a slow sinker with a little lip to wiggle it some. Lm,sm,pike, and a 14" rock bass ate that thing. Sure wish i had more....
  21. 7'6" H flippin stick (14#mono) for big cranks & pike lures. 7'6" M flippin stick (10# mono) for most cranks, spinnerbaits, and jigs. 7'Mh spin (10#mono)jigs, worms, and cranks if it is real windy. 7' M spin (8#mono)all-purpose. 7'ML spin (6#mono)dropshot. 6'6"M spin (6#mono)senko,surface,grub,tube etc. (i usually carry 7 rigs in my boat)
  22. Flat Maxx for me also. My deep flat maxxes (?) have not enjoyed as much catching as my shallow ones have. Great $5 bait that has good hooks and color choices.
  23. Idaho***er- thats alot of tackle you carry there. It looks like it would take you an hour to get it all in there. And then the worst part..having to load it all up to go home. You young guys have WAY too much energy! :-/
