Light line to get deeper(10lb) Sharpen the bill Suspend dots Weights attached to the front treble Fish uphill. Like Sam said to use one that runs deeper than the depth fished to bump the bottom I use 3.8. or 5.1.1 reels to keep me from fishing to fast. Plus it cuts down on mid back ache for me

Has anyone caught a tagged fish?
I caught a 2lb LM on Rayburn that had two tags on it's back in 2002. It had no value other than a call to parks and wildlife to report the when and where for their survey. Disapointing, but glad to let them know. Asked them why two tags and it was just a precaution in case one was lost. They were located just along the top and at the rear of the dorsal fin. Also caught a 40 lb redfish at the mouth of the Colorado river back in 1998 that was part of a stocking program down toward Corpus Christi. No money for that one either. they were just tracking the distances traveled.

How long do you stay?
I hit a spot with 4-5 different productive lures that cover the entire depth. If no action I am on to the next. Sometimes 10-15 minutes, other times a little longer.

College Football Rant
They are paid to hype the game and circumstances. Most of them are overblown egomanics that have no business on TV. Where is Keith Jackson when you need him.

Mr. Buck's Killer Arrested
There was a 10,000.00 reward for information. That is probably what did him in. They are saying that two more were involved. they have interviewed one supposely that was the driver. No more arrest yet. Word is the buck did not go down without a fight. He charged the killer and stuck a horn in his leg and pined him down. This was when the killer stabed him in the chest and then used a bone saw to cut his head off. The killer had two outstanding warrants for failure to appear in another county for charges for taking(Poaching) two other deer without landowners permission. The killer had severe damage to his leg, but said he was afraid to go to the hospital for fear of being caught due to the outcry from everyone. Police are stressing to everyone that this guy is not a hunter. No hunter or anyone resembling one would ever stoop to this level. He is facing up to two years in prison on the felony count of taking game from a federal preserve. Not to mention the other 12-15 counts both state and federal that are pending. I hope they make him stand in the pen with a sign around his neck telling everyone what he has done. Only after he serves all of his jail time though. His bail is 5,000.00 and he has not been able to post it yet. Hopefully no one will help him get out. Sorry for the rant. This just ticks(I cannot post what I really want to say) me off.

250 Etech
Congratulations. I looked at the new etec 175 for my Skeeter, but the 15,000.00 price tag drove me away. I hear great things about them. Enjoy.

Mr. Buck's Killer Arrested
A crimestoppers tip let federal authorities to his home late last night. He still had the evidence(Head with the rack) in his possession. Mr. buck was a 10 yr. old tame buck located in a pen in a park on the west side of Houston. He was very popular with the children and adults that liked viewing him and his mate. He had no fear of humans and would let the children all over him. The killer cut the fence, walked up, killed him, and cut his head off several weeks ago. He is facing many charges, including federal as the park was designated as a federal game preserve. I hope he gets 10 years minimum. People like this don't need to be on the street.

bottom composition for the spawn
If you can't find the right bottom look for them in the tops of stumps, logjams, and even the forks of trees. Otherwise the above post is on.

BCS: Bull Crap System!
Yeah, but sooner or later you will have a bad game and you won't be able to score 60 (vs. Texas, for instance). My high school soccer team had one of the most unproductive offense in the state, yet we made a couple of good playoff runs, because our defense was stout. In two seasons, about 40 games, we lost only two games by more than one goal. Granted, a good offense would always breakthrough eventually and score one, but we kept ourselves in it by having a strong defense. Sure, high school soccer and div-1A football are different, but the bottom line is that if you have to have one, either a good offense or a good defense, you pick the defense. I thought all soccer games were 1-0 or 2-1. If you lost by more than one it was considered a rout.

$25 Oil?
It's in the 1.40 range here today. Several places in Pasadena on the s.e. side of Houston(Where most refineries are located) are in the high 1.30s.

$25 Oil?
This is great. Now all the little dictators around the world will have to come calling with their hats in thier hands to keep thier people from kicking them out of power. Hopefully they will not have the money to cause a problem, and when the people get through with them maybe they will never be seen or heard from again. They have all hitched thier governments to the price of high oil. Now maybe thier people will realize that they are what they are. Little wanta-bees with a lot of low price oil that cannot sustain their programs. Wonder what Hugo thinks of the price and how will the russians respond.

mounting engine
Anytime you compromise an area on anything around water a sealer is needed. Repair shops are thriving on business they have contracted due to the lack of oversight by owners.

Tournament Fishing- Frog Bite
Happens to me a lot. I just use them for a search bait and then followup with a trick worm or some other plastic. They will usually eat the followup lure. Good luck

Cool fishing story.
I agree. Hope the fish was released alive, but I doubt it. This story is making the rounds since yesterday on our local news.

Plastic or wood crankbaits????
All of mine are wood except the traps.

Morning Rant
Good luck. BTW a Cat scan takes a couple of minutes and an MRI will last from 15-40 minutes depending on the area. I have had many of both dealing with back and neck pain and neither is any fun. Hope it works out for you.
