Lake Jacksonville-Texas lake
I have a bass club tournament this weekend on this lake. I have been told that it is a boat dock and manmade brushpile pattern with the most popular choices being lures in black-blue(Jigs). Anyone have any other info? I have not been there in 22 years. Thanks

Carpal Tunnel
Not sure now. Mine was covered by insurance.

Carpal Tunnel
My surgery reguired that I have a two-three inch incesion in the palm of each hand to allow access to the boney tendon that runs from your thumb across the base of your palm. This constricts the canal that the nerves run through to your fingers. They had to cut my tendons to allow the nerve canal room to expand and relieve the pressure on the nerves. I'm sure there are newer ways to do it now. Every doctor that I talked to told me to stay away from the lazer surgery. They said it did not last and many times would have to be redone. Just remember this was 13 years ago and there are probably new ways to cure this that were not known at that time. I fished with the stiches in my palms and it did not bother me at all. My doctor(Carter Crouch - Texas Ortohpedic Hospital) in Houston only ask that I try to keep the incesions dry for a few days.

Carpal Tunnel
I have had the surgery done back in 1995 on both wrist. It was not the lazer either. Both were done on a Tuesday two weeks apart. I fished a practice day and a two day tournament three days after each procedure. My doctor said I could do whatever I could handle. No pain and no problems since. The braces and splints do nothing but prolong the problem. Pain in my right wrist had begun shooting up into my right elbow. The first day of fishing was ok, it was the second day that I had the problems( numbness, tingling, and after dropping several rods over the side on hooksets) I had it fixed. It is starting to bother me some again, but nothing bad enough to contemplate any more surgery. Good luck!

Please read this about Rolands new Rods
Roland is the P.T. Barnum of fishing. I will never, ever waste a penny on any product he puts his name on. I will not trash him here, but, I have several issues over the last 30 years that pertain to him or some of his products. None is hearsay and I will stop there.

Man, Muddy, you really know how to bring back the memories.

Throwing buzzbaits
Most people fish a buzzbait way to fast anyway. I try not to watch it(Same with a frog) and it has helped my hookup ratio. Following it up with a plastic is a great way to catch the short strikers.

Who is your favorite bass fishing TV celebrity?
I voted for Parker. Can't vote for Dance as he only wants to fish regulated pay or private lakes that most cannot get access to. You see the same pine tree point in the background on almost every show. Those trees have grown from 10' saplings to 40 footers over the last 15 years.

Your biggest limit?
Sam Rayburn on a hot July day fishing the grass with a 1 oz. brown jig and green pumpkin trailer just off an 18-20 creek. Best five weighed 36.89 and did not win the tournament. Biggest was 10.37 and two others that were over 8 lbs.

Don't Mess With Texans
I really don't think we are any different from any other area. I lived in Alabama 13 years and they would put one in you just as quick. Suspect it will be the same anywhere. You ask for it and there will be someone right along that will dish it out for you.

Anything violent. Guess that includes the evening news.

Don't Mess With Texans
Great story. Just sorry that we have to pay to incarserate the other. It is generally not wise to attempt a lot of things in this state. Everyone, and I mean everyone is packing and not afraid to whip it out and more importantly squeese the trigger. Just sharpens up the eyesite before season opens. We do not need gun ranges here. Just take a ride and you can get all the sighteing in you need. God Bless the hand gun, shotgun, AR-15, etc., and the people willing to pop a cap in someone's a-- when they have it comming.

Don't you hate it when...
The deer around here usually chew open my sacks and help themselves before I can put the corn out. Guess it would help if I learned to lock the gate.

Ike reaches cat 4
If it gets into the Gulf, let me know. We can put up a few for a few days. That is unless it sets sail for us. If so, I'll be on the move too.

Bass in heavy vegetation? Spoon feed em!
Catt, those fish in Carice Creek will hammer one if you just give it a chance.

Employment Question
At will states have you over a barrell from the day you start. Talk to an employment attorney to get your options. There are loop holes that may help some. If your company has picked on you(as the only one required to take a cut) you may have options. Get experienced help. Good luck. Have your ducks in a row and be prepared to verify your job duties and the calipher of work that you performed while working for them.

Best we get ready again too. You know where that thing will set it's sites as soon as it crosses Florida.

Energy Independence
Ya'll get my vote. Surest way is to develope the fields we have on land and sea. Drill now and drill everywhere a rig can be setup. A northern company applied this week to add two new reactors to the Bay City site down below Houston and to build a new one south of San Antonio. Paper said it will take until 2012 for all the paperwork to be completed. What a joke. Just build the d--n thing and everyone will benefit.

Importance of wind direction ?
The wind is your friend. It stacks up the entire food chain and most important it keeps most fishermen away from that area.
