  1. Sorry man...that sucks!!! I bought myself an inflatable vest last year. It's not new, but it's yours if you want it. Let me know. Alan (bassnajr)
  2. That is a good question. I guess it depends on what type of person you are. To me, telling other people to buy a "great item" that I think is crap just for the money is not something I would do. That's just me. :- BTW any of you guys want to dump those crappy Light and Tough rods now that Ike has gone to Abu, just PM me!!!!!
  3. Money is one thing for sure, but to have your name on something you truly believe in as well, I am sure thats important to these guys egos as well. And then of course there's ..um....the money!!!
  4. I ran into ALOT of scumbags in my 25 years as a cop...and I must agree that the SCUMMIEST is the common thief. They think that what they do is a "minor" crime, but when you think about the affect on the regular guy, it is staggering. Guy saves up big time for a Lowrance unit and a bung hole steals it. The sad thing is...it's probably another fisherman in the area who is a scumbag. Advice to members here: Make a small, specific mark on your stuff. Make the mark "in plain sight." Rods, reels, boxes, electronics, etc. Nothing big, just make sure it's the SAME mark on all your stuff. Why?? Most of your gear has no serial numbers. If you have to report it to the police, you tell them about the mark. If you find the item say, on someones boat, or mixed in with their gear, you can tell the cop, "That's mine..see that mark? If you show the cop the SAME mark on all your gear, 99% chance you'll get it back, and maybe the S.Bag gets pinched.
  5. Hey....lay off the pocket fisherman!! I am pretty sure the guy who made and marketed that is from Rhode Island. We don't have much so give us a break!!!!! ;D
  6. I would bet that a big part of this deal is that Abu is going to allow Ike to help design/make/sell and profit $$$$ from a QUALITY line of rods/reels. I looked at the Iaconelli rods and reels made FOR him by Daiwa that they tried to make look like the Steez set-up for the blue collar fisherman. They are now on the way to the bargin bin if they are not there already. I have not fished the Reese rods/reels but the price is good, I just wonder about the quality?? I fish the Light and Tough rods...they are great for the price. I also fish Cumaras and the Odd Carrot Stix. I don't fish them because Ike or anyone else fishes them, nor will I fish solely Abu or Berkley products because he is the new sponsor. I think most of the members here are above that. They test products, what they like...they buy and use. JMHO AJR
  7. I have this problem with my mechanic and my car. He leaves it outside even though I ask him to put it inside. If anything got stolen or damaged, it would be a battle of insurance and that would suck because he's my friend. ROCK.......AJR........HARDPLACE!! :-[ Hope he's not in that situation!!!
  8. Keep us posted dude....hope it was "just" the fishfinder. AJR
  9. Hey Steve...... Nice "Took"!!!!!! ;D
  10. Hey all.... As the Northeast winter continues (as of right now, I am stitting under a 75 watt flood light getting some "rays") I see that A.S.A.'s Bass Academy is part of the Worcester Sportsmans Show in Feburary. Has anyone taken part in this anywhere else in the country? If so was it worth it? The cost is $50.00 which includes a 4 day pass to the show, handouts, etc. Just trying to get some opinions. http://www.sportshows.com/bassacademyma/index.html Thanks in advance
  11. WOW!!!! Penny wise and dollar foolish on Daiwa's part I think!!!!! Maybe Daiwa needs the extra $$$ to sponsor Manabu Kurita???? : Has Ike made any comments or press releases about this?? If anyone finds this out please post. AJR
  12. Congratulations to him!!!! He says he will break this record soon anyway so I am sure he is not worried about the tie!!
  13. You guys kill me!!! lol I think we can take the Geek Squad FFD's!! A well placed 1 oz. jig should handle that. On a serious note. I spoke with a Lowrance rep at a seminar last night about this. Bottom line...it's a Windows problem. I told him that was unacceptable...he didn't disagree. peace!!! Alan (bassnajr)
  14. MBSR... I have 32 bit. I followed all the ideas in the Lowrance FAQs guide. It even refers you to a Microsoft link when their ideas don't work and even that doesn't work. The next step deals with entering the "guts" of your computer and futzing around with the "inner sanctum." I don't have your skills man or I might try it. PS Happy New Year to you and yours!!!!
  15. I called Lowrance and spoke with a tech dude. He tried to walk me through it (doing what I had done before) and no go. He said that he would report it to the IT guy and said that Lowrance is a small company, so he will tell him personally and get this fixed. We'll see!! I also mentioned this site and told him many people were having this problem.
  16. I just tried it AGAIN...no go!!! Can you PM me the site you read this from?? Thanks, Alan
  17. I did not say live bait was cheating. That was another post. Northern strain VS. Florida strain is a good point and another poll to be had, no doubt. But.... I can't believe that folks are saying that it is NOT easier to catch bass on live bait VS. artificial lures.....COME ON!!!!! :
  18. Just want to get an idea on how members feel. If you feel that there should be seperate bass records for live bait VS. artificial baits vote YES. If not, vote NO. Thanks, Alan (bassnajr)
  19. Live VS. Fake records...I am gonna do a poll on this. I'd be interested in what others think.
  20. Sounds to me like it's better getting non-fishing related sponsors??? :-?
  21. The only stupid question is the one that goes un-asked.
  22. I don't want to hijack but it is MUCH harder to catch any fish on artifical lures than live bait...NO DOUBT!!!! There should be two catergories: Live bait Artificial lures I only fish for bass, so if other breed fisherman want to chime in, go right ahead. Alan (bassnajr0
  23. A ha!!!!!! You brought up one of the biggest arguments. Should there be different records for live bait VS. artificial. I say YES!!!!!
