Fishing from the back of the boat
"I am not sure what you are talking about 4 hours on and switch. That may be local club rule but far from the status quo and personally never heard such a thing. Many times I have a selected co angler that is the back boater. I would try to give him some water to fish but many times it just can't work that way. After I have my limit I would OFFER him to get up front with me but far from mandatory. Remember this the boat owner pays a higher fee.... pays for the boat....insurance....matience and many other things. I know this sounds wrong but i paid for the right to fish up front. Team tournaments are somewhat different we are working together but I have never asked to get in the front. Fun fishing the same way...I have never had the need to get in the front." Let me clarify..... In our State Qualifying Tournament this is the format. P.S. If you feel this way about co-anglers, why do you fish with them? Why not just fish alone? Sounds like it wouldn't be much fun fishing with you...for fun or other wise.......

Fishing from the back of the boat
I have gotten used to the "front" of the boat. Couple of ideas: 1. If your buddy is a friend, let him know how you feel. He is not doing on purpose, just out of habit. 2. Rick Clunn on the Bass Pros had a segment on this. See if you can find that show. Being in the back of the boat has advantages. You have angles the guy in the front does not have. If he is moving to fast, let him know. 3. You and the "front" guy should be working as a team, especially during a tournament. 4. Jump up front. One fish the left the other fish the right. Again, if he is your friend, this should not be a problem. 5. Some boats are too small for this (two in the front). Communication is key in a smaller boat. 6. During tournaments, it's usually four hours up front for the boater, and then four hours up front for the non boater. Communication is key!!! Don't loose a friend over this!!!!!

Langill's DQ at Guntersville...
"I'm not dogging the Marshals at all, I just don't understand how 4 Marshals can have differing accounts of the same happenings." FBL, I was in law enforcement for 25 years..... I hated having "eye witnesses" to interview after a crime. 20 eyewitnesses....20 different stories EVERY time....bizzare!!!!! ajr

"Will knots" how do you handle them...do they affect your fishing???
Calm down!!!!!! I'm talking about those little pieces of braid, mono, or flouro, that are left on the "O" rings of your hard baits or hook eyes after you cut them off you line. Does anyone think they cause a problem with bait action, or could they bother the fish?? I use a nail clipper to get them off...they drive me CRAZY but just for appearance sake. Chime in!!!!! ajr

Luckycraft custom painted lures with no "O" rings.....
Hey all.... I recently bought some older LC crankbaits custom painted, real nice. They have a connection ring on the bill but no "O" ring off of that. Is this normal? Should I put "O" rings on? ajr

Where Are You Finding them in RI/Southern Mass
I think they need a little more stable weather Anthony. Going from upper 30's Thursday morning to mid 80's the past couple days is tough. It is supposed to drop off to highs in the low 60's come Weds too. So this warm-up will be offset by night lows in the upper 40's. They usually always stick to the moon phases up here to. You will see sparatic fish but as soon, but around the week before the full moon, the waves come. That's today!!!!! http://www.stardate.org/nightsky/moon/ ajr PS Nice fish Mike........

How did/do you all learn to fish?
Time on the water fishing...time on the water fishing.... oh, by the way, did I mention, time on the water fishing.

what else can i do?
I fish from shore on occasion....problem is when the fish are there, they are there and when they are not, you catch weeds!! Right now, the spawn is in progress or getting ready to happen. Fish will be in specific areas within any given body of water, staging out deep, bedding shallower. For the most part, a boat is a must right now.

Boat for Tournament
Who cares what everyone else thinks!!! Most guys (and gals!!) started with a smaller boat and then get "the bug" to upgrade. If you feel that strongly about it, borrow someones bass boat for the tourneys. If you fish on Table Rock, you must have connections. A smaller boat, nothing fancy, can also be a good way to stay under the radar and then come in with a 20 lb. sack!!! Good luck!!!

Does this make any sense..Please explain
I would say "match the hatch" not the bottom.....but what do I know???

Blind Bass
Cool photo!!! I wouldn't say the fish is "blind" per se. If fish cataracts are like human cataracts, the fish would be able to see shadows, light, movement, etc. but not clearly what it was going after. This would explain why the fish are in such good shape. That and the lateral line!!!!
