  2. JUST FISH!!!! If you are good enough...sponsors will find you. I hate the idea of a youngster having to SELL themselves. Get good grades, do community service, and fish your best. if it's meant to be it will happen. IMO ajr

  4. Hey, I put the ball right through the hole in the bumper of my Explorer Sport Trac and ruined an area of the bumper. You are better off getting a Reese set up. That's what I am going to do this year. Can you tow with the Explorer. Yup. I had no problems. bassnajr
  5. I agree with Redsyn... If it was a lefty, I would have ordered one myself. It might be in my head, but the LH baitcasters SEEM to work better for me (being brought up on a Mitchell 300 LH spin reel!!) Mike WV, I did not mean that any reel under $100.00 is junk. Most of my reels are $100.00 plus reels that I get a deal on (like on the Fishing Flea Market here on BRS, E-Bay or, BPS/Cabela's.) In other threads, members have stated, and I agree, that $100.00 seems to seperate the LEVELS if you will. Beginner, intermediate, expert,( yeah right!! ) I appreciate the conversation on this thread, and I don't think it's argumentative either. Just good hearted conversation!! Peace alan
  6. Anyone own one of these reels and if so what do you think of them? LBH told me they make quality salt water equipment, I was just wondering about their freshwater line. It looks like a quality reel, but no one sells them around here. bassnajr
  7. This is a CONSTANT topic on here. Again, coming from the Crazy Golf Guys Club, more expensive isn't always the best, and sometimes a name is Just a name. I saw guys buy the newest clubs, changing every year. HUNDREDS of dollars for one club... CRAZY!!!! (And they still couldn't play!!) There is something to be said about "You get what you pay for." I have read here a few times that the $100.00 mark is a good cut off. The difference from $100 and up is noticable. IMO But does that mean every reel under 100 is junk? I don't think so....IMHO bassnajr
  8. Amen Mike.... Amen... X2 What did they do back in the '60's and '70's without all the bling?? bassnajr

  14. Hey all... I am trying not to buy to much into the "line craze" but would like member opinions on mono. vs copoly. lines. What line do you use in what circumstance, why, and what line do you feel is better? Is coploy just the natural progression of monofilament line? Thanks for ideas/opinions in advance. ajr

  20. I'm a reading fool, especially during the winter... I just looked on E-bay for this book. They have a few at a hefty price (for a used book that is!). Looks like you have a collecters item there. ajr
  21. Or are you actually the same person??? Hmmmmmm??? Seriously though... If the area is as you describe (beaver and all) it would have to be wetlands. I'm pretty sure wetlands, no matter where you are from, are protected. I agree with Marty. DNR first, then your local zoning/ planning board to find out why this company is being allowed to work in what sounds like a protected area. Good luck... ajr
