Sports car, jeep, or truck?
I'll second that, and include mustangs, firebirds, and camaros, among many others. I've driven quite a few "sports cars" from a turbo honda to a dodge viper, and would take a good solid truck over any of them as a daily driver.

Alltel
Frogtog- If you want to switch to a new carrier, Alltel is required by law to be able to transfer your current phone number to that new service. Too many people had been getting the shaft from their providers and did not switch because they did not want to change numbers, so it is now required that you have the option of importing your old/current number to a new service.

If any of you work with saws,
Looks like a great product for those High School Woods shops! Last year I worked in a H.S. in a room right off of the wood shop and had to search for a fingertip TWICE in that 9 months!

Headline News!
The way things are going right now...who knows! It is not just the big 3 that are hurting, either. As of right now I have a father, step-father, brother, and a cousin working at Honda in Ohio...they just got word today that they will get an extra-special two weeks off for christmas...yikes.

Iraqi wedding + gun = FAIL
ROTFLMAO! That is great. Stupid is as stupid does. Anybody wondering who we are fighting against should see that. I had to watch it multiple times. You could scour the planet and possibly never find a dumber individual. Comments like these disturb me. Yes, the guy made a stupid decision by allowing the child to play with the pistol, and he paid for it with his life. I don't find any humor in this and I assure you that if you ever see a man shot to death, you won't be LOLing. They scream, they cry, they beg for their mothers, and then they are dead. If this was an American family would it still be so funny? thetr20one, if you're wondering who we are fighting, it's not these people. They were a family celebrating a wedding, nothing more. Those of us who have patroled the streets of Iraq understand that we are not at war with the Iraqi people. We are dealing with an insurgency that wishes to disrupt a struggling, new democracy. There are bad apples among them, but the Iraqis in general are just people trying to make it in a war torn country. grimlin, while the American public may be ready for the troops to come home, you won't hear too many Soldiers complain. Sure, we would like more time between deployments (and more pay), but we realize that there are good people over there who will suffer if we leave before the job is done. bird dog - Amen! --other comments withdrawn

Info on Daiwa Bait Casters
I've been very impressed with my Daiwa megaforce. I bought it as a cheap way to learn baitcasting without having to resort to buying something I'd throw away after one season. It has been great, and really sold me on using daiwa products. I rarely use the twitchin bar, typically only when I'm throwing something that I can crawl along the bottom and my wife calls...so one hand on the cell and on twitchin my bait! Great reel, and I am planning on buying a viento this winter.

Small Pond frustration in the Fall
first, that photofinish crank looks amazing... second, back to the pond issue. When I was out I could barely get the bass to follow a lure. I would see them sitting near the banks watching schools of baitfish, but any lure I would throw would not catch their attention...could this be the "lockjaw" theroy I've heard about LMB doing this time of year?

Small Pond frustration in the Fall
I was faced with the same thing at my local pond last weekend. Most of the fish I spotted were just cruising, and the water was very clear, so they were easy to spot. Every now and then one would follow, but I never got a hit on a jig, jerkbait, or a crank. I have thrown soft plastics and tried to focus on slowing it down, but I dont think that I have been patient ENOUGH, so that will be my focus this weekend!

Chantix- a tale of trying to quit
I got started quitting about a week behind you (along with my wife), and then my wife's sister had a near-miscarriage, so she was over-stressed and bought a pack. I, of course, couldnt just let her cheat without doing so myself, so today I am quitting again! Last time I felt great and it was going well, until my wife broke down and cheated. Finding a reason to go buy a pack has to be the biggest temptation, but I'm ready to beat it this time! Congrats to you!

holy texas game
a great game for sure. I had a wedding to go to today, so this was the only game I got to watch...wow! I honestly was hoping to see Texas lose just so Joe Pa and Penn State would have a shot at a title game, but I dont think any game the rest of the year will come close to being as good as this one!

Ghosts? Hauntings?
I would have to say I believe, but I'm not entirely sure exactly what I believe in! I think the little things that happen to most people in their lifetime are the main reason I believe, rather than hearing the big "wow" stories. For instance, just this past weekend my wife's grandmother walked in to her bedroom to find the nightshirt her husband used to wear laid out on the bed. He has been dead for about 6 years, and she has moved since he passed. She said she had wondered what happened to his favorite night shirt, and now she found it laid out nicely on the bed with no one else around, so she now sleeps with it laid out next to her. I have heard a first-hand account of one story that I thought was definitely a "wow" story that could not be explained logically. My buddy has an uncle who lives in Bristol, VA on campground road. He had told us before that the house he lived in was haunted, but we didnt really give it much thought, until we found it in a book about hauntings (haunted VA or something like that). Apparently the house had been the home of an elderly woman who had quite a few adopted children living with her, but due to some tragic accident they had all died (a fire or something, I forget). But in 2004 as my budddy's uncle (Ronny) and his wife were leaving the house they witnessed a big accident on the curve of the road in front of the house. A logging truck had taken the turn wide and smashed into a car coming toward him. As they pulled over and ran down, they find a little girl and a woman in the car. The mother appeared to be dead, so this guy and his wife get the little girl out so she does not have to see her mother. The wife takes the girl to the edge of the road to sit down while they both run back down to see how the mother is doing. They both conclude that the mother is dead, and that nothing can be done. They return to the little girl who tells them "my mommy is in heaven now, isn't she?" They ask why she says that and the little girl informs them "the old lady told me mommy died and was going to heaven, but I could live with her in that house up there" and pointed toward their home on the hill. The little girl described this old woman and the truck driver said he had sat there the whole time watching the girl, and that he saw her talking and looking up, but he just thought she was praying. A wild story to hear him tell, and he tears up each time he tells it. I dont know how else to begin to explain that one!

?????? about lures from Netcraft (Springer 78)
I was actually wondering the same thing. I was planning a trip up to where netcraft has their showroom, and I wanted to take a look at those, but I would like to hear how well they have performed for anybody else.

What Lures Were Hot This Season
Great article. I admit I'm a sucker for "what works on TV" and I've got the tackle collection to prove it. I think if KVD had told me to paint my tow vehicle in a "sexy shad" pattern I may have tried it. I did learn a lot this year...about not buying "hype" baits...with the exception of Rage craws!

Lunar Tables
I know its been discussed on here before, I think I actually asked the question a few months back, and basically what I learned from it was that 90% of the guys on here have zero faith in lunar/solunar tables.
