  1. I'd pick college hoops over the NFL any day. Good for Tyler. Are you making it to the game tonight? I agree 100% Football is by far my favorite sport, but I can hardly stand the NFL - it has become a bunch of overpaid crybabies that only care about their reputation and their net worth. College Basketball, especially in March, is a bunch of guys who love to play the game and compete for playing time, 90% of them know they will never be PAID to play the game.
  2. Anyone know of any good fishing shows or expos coming up in Ohio or Eastern Indiana?
  3. I have a detached two+ car garage that is unheated, houses tools, pool table, workbench, and occasionally cars. I didn't want to leave all my fishing gear out in the cold all winter, so fortunately my wife asked me to build shelving and a craft table in the basement. Little did she know that "craft" table would permanently house all my reels/lures/etc.!
  4. Exactly. My seventh grade coach knew better than to try something like that in that position.
  5. Anytime your doing any kind of statistics or research on something like you mention, you always have to limit the outside variables. For instance if you fish 10 different worms throughout the day, you may find those that would say "maybe you just had X color worm at the right time of the day and the color didn't matter". Doing something like that is tough without having a control group and a plan to minimize the extraneous variables. Tough project, but a good idea to work with!
  6. Alright, I guess I'm not too burnt up over the outcome of last night's game. Both teams played well and made some decent halftime adjustments. There were some bad calls, but that will always happen. I was happy to see that both bands got plenty of air time (That Texas band uniform is about the ....uh, "strangest" thing I've seen in music since the Village people). Lots of terrific coverage of the Gatorade Jugs, too! It was a game worth watching, its just a shame it came down to my Buckeyes losing due to a poor defensive scheme that late in the game!
  7. Haha, thats some good stuff Muddy! I went to Lowe's yesterday and all I saw was a mid-50s woman in the cabinetry section bent over with her huge thong showing. Should I have given her my wallet???
  8. OSU is playing better than they have in past bowl games, but I see some halftime changes for both teams that could really change this game. I'm enjoying it, go BUCKS!
  9. ...salt in the wounds my friend! All summer long you Florida fisherman brag about your daily double-digit fish, now you have to bring up the fact that you are fishing while we can now drive on our lakes??? cut us some slack! 8-)
  10. Just decided on my fishing-related resolution today, Stop buying more rods/reels until I have learned how to effectively fish every lure in my tackle box!
  11. Remember to decide on the Job/career before the paycheck. I thought that job was what I wanted to do too, for about 3 days. Glorified babysitting is not what I wanted to do the next 30 years, no matter what the pay!
  12. quick someone delete this thread. If after the past couple bitter-ending seasons, why in the holy crap would you get cocky before the game even starts???? Do what the rest of us are doing....Pray, hope, and pray again that the Bucks come out and play like they do throughout the season, rather than showing up NOT ready to play...AGAIN.
  13. Last month I realized I still have random gift cards from last Christmas that I have not used, so i googled "gift card swap" and found a few online businesses that let you buy/sell/trade gift cards. I am not going to post a link because I cannot vouch for any of them yet, just thought you may want to know they are out there and possibly worth looking into.
  14. The school I used to work for had one in the office. I was tasked with trying to find the best deals on the coffee, and I could not find folgers or maxwell house anywhere. As of this time last year all I could find were the specialty coffees, but when you buy in bulk you get a decent deal. The downside is you are paying more for coffee than you did before, but the up side is different people can pick their own flavors of coffee, tea, etc. and brew it one cup at a time...and quickly too!
  15. Katie Couric, Charlie Gibson, Brian Williams and a tough old U.S. Marine Gunny Sergeant were captured by terrorists in Iraq. The leader of the terrorists told them he'd grant each of them one last request before they were beheaded and dragged naked through the streets. Katie Couric said, 'Well, I'm a Southerner, so I'd like one last plate of fried chicken.' The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the chicken. Couric ate it all and said, 'Now I can die content.' Charlie Gibson said, 'I'm living in New York, so I'd like to hear the song 'The Moon and Me' one last time." The terrorist's leader nodded to another terrorist who had studied the Western world and knew the music. He returned with some rag-tag musicians and played the song. Gibson was satisfied. Brian Williams said, 'I'm a reporter to the end. I want to take out my tape recorder and describe the scene here and what's about to happen. Maybe, someday, someone will hear it and know that I was on the job till the end.' The leader directed an aide to hand over the tape recorder and Williams dictated his comments. He then said, 'Now I can die happy.' The leader turned and said, 'And now, Mr. US Marine, what is your final wish? 'Kick me in the a$$,' said the Marine. 'What?' asked the leader, 'Will you mock us in your last hour?' 'No, I'm NOT kidding. I want you to kick me in the a$$,' insisted the Marine. So the leader shoved him into the yard and kicked him in the a$$. The Marine went sprawling, but rolled to his knees, pulled a 9mm pistol from inside his cammies and shot the leader dead. In the resulting confusion, he emptied his sidearm on six terrorists, with his knife he slashed the throat of one with an AK-47, which he took, and sprayed the rest of the terrorists killing another 11. In a flash, all of them were either dead or fleeing for their lives. As the Marine was untying Couric, Gibson and Williams, they asked him, 'Why didn't you just shoot them all in the first place? Why did you ask him to kick you in the a$$?' 'What!?!' replied the Marine, 'and have you three a-holes report that I was the aggressor... ?
  16. I'll second that! 4 years of college at Xavier taught me that I needed to move away for good fishing!
  17. They had it right before the end of the jig head and weights isle at the dicks near me. But if they carry cavitrons and the attractant why don't they carry any of the new stuff such as the evo2 jigs and shakey heads? It looks like I will be picking up some of the new stuff too! Also wondered about the question quoted above.
  18. good question, I've been wondering the same. I was looking at the naked bait co. skirt expander, which looks great, but there has to be an easier/cheaper way, as I won't be making dozens of skirts at a time!
  19. Haha, that is awesome, man. You couldn't talk her into maybe a chartreuse or watermelon color? ;D
  20. I have had great luck with the Pioneer speakers within that price range. Just make sure you don't get anything with paper cones or they will sound just like your cheap factory speakers. I would advise you to put the head unit in the vehicle and hook it all up to see how it sounds, you may be surprised how much better your factory speakers sound with a couple extra watts going to them!
  21. Great story, great message
  22. I'm just glad my boss will be out of the office for the next 10 days!
  23. 1) It is my time to relax and take in the outdoors. No matter how many boats are on the lake, there is always a quiet cove to get away from it all. 2) while it is relaxing it is always a challenge, and ever changing. No two hours are the same, so it provides me a challenge that I enjoy taking on and preparing for and is in no way associated with work!
  24. Add my name to the list of people who accomplished zero work while at work yesterday. I returned a few emails and made a couple calls, but I could have stopped in for 30 minutes and gotten that done! Of course, since I work for the Red Cross karma always gets me on the days where I want/need to take it easy. I got home last night and started making dinner, only to be called out to a housefire. So I guess combined I did about 3.5 hours of work in the 11 hours I was "working" yesterday.
