  1. I quit for three months while I went through basic training, and luckily while doing so I had drill sergeants screaming and young guys crying to keep me distracted from how bad I wanted a smoke. I never should have picked one up after that, but I did. My motivation is not having to sneak around the corner of the house so my 11 month old son doesnt see me smoking outside. (not to mention the $1800 savings a year!) I think after the initial fight I'll just have to worry about the random urges and someone lighting up next to me.
  2. Frog, I'm with you. I had my last cigarette this morning, and on my way to work decided to hold off on coffee for a while too, as coffee only makes me want a cigarette more. I'm approaching 10 years of smoking, and I want to be smoke free before then, today is as good as any! Fight the good fight, and I'll be on your heels!

agreed BPS is better for bass fishing, where cabelas is more geared to overall "outdoors" I shop from both, though!
  4. Megaforce is one I have thought about purchasing also, so I've played with it a little and done some research on it. Basically what I found out was that while the twitchin bar is a big selling point, its not something most people use after their first few times out with the reel. They do, however, seem to think its a solid reel for the money, so overall good buy. I want to try the megaforce side by side with the black max (abu)
  5. welcome aboard! I just passed 100 posts in no time, this site is great!
  6. Michigan or not, I still welcome you to the boards! You'll learn a lot from these guys...
  7. in my prayers for sure
  8. Thats a terrible ad campaign! While I'm sure they want viewers/people to LIKE Swindle, it makes you despise a man you never met, all in less than 30 seconds! They could have saved money and just said "hey I'm g-man, I love babies, animals, and bass fishing...come look at my sight." would have been a thousand times more effective, and my mute button would not be jammed into my remote!
  9. My current job is monitoring a classroom full of highschool students assigned to "in-school suspension" and I cant tell you how hard it is to hide behind my desk laughing my @$$ just so they cant see me! That last one is great
  10. This whole thread and plan seems to be turning into a puzzle. I think we go with Mattm and korea_bassin's main objective. One lure (already out there) to be sent on as soon as you can fish it or two weeks. Simple.
  11. He'll be back! Great to see him on the stage finally!
  12. Thanks a lot guys, great work!
  13. I've only been bass fishing for a year or two, but thanks to the guys and all the available knowledge on here I know a lot more than most guys I see out on the water! This is a great site, welcome aboard!
  14. thanks, definitely a change from what I'm used to fishing...which is good!
  15. I'm not real sure how tenn beating memphis was a big win for the south :-/
  16. Charlie is a great guy, and I think his career winnings total less than 300k though. He works a "regular" job while fishing pro. His sponsor, venom lures is not exactly a huge sponsor either, and they are located just on the other side of columbus, OH from Charlie. I really would like to see him take this one home. BTW, 100th post here in about 3 months! I love this site...may be an addict, but i've learned one heck of a lot!!! Thanks all
  17. Well the grandparents retirement house in Charleston (summerville) is finished and they will be moving soon...sounds like a good reason for me to head to SC to do some bassin. What lakes close to that area are good? Thanks folks!
  18. wow, I wish I were there! This one is going to be good. Hartley definitely has something figured out! The recap is on espn2 at 10:00pm, didnt see that on the website :-/
  19. wow, he was hanging on. He definitely has his best game on for the classic!
  20. I hate to say it, but I think he will drop out of the top 5 for sure. He didnt have confidence coming in, and I think yesterdays weather helped him out...made it feel like fishing ohio!
  21. Agreed, not a whole lot of the field covered, just the usual big names. I got more info off of here and bassmaster.com than I did from TV.
  22. Charlie Hartley is out in front on day one, good to see Ohio bass fishing being well represented!
  23. You gotta love seeing Charlie out on top after day one. He didnt sound very confidant after the pre-fish, but he is on to something! He's a great guy, and deserves a classic win...cant wait to see how this one works out!

She is hoping her showing this weekend will bring in a sponsor to throw a boat her way. When her boat electronics went down she couldnt have the classic crew fix it because they dont have parts on hand for a walleye boat...bass boat parts only! until yesterday she didnt even have a loaner lined up, but she got hers fixed in time, luckily
