That didn't take long!

ammo cans
It just so happens that I have a few ammo cans and a milk crate in the garage! Question: What size ammo can? I think all I brought home from the Army with me was 2 or 3 of the .50 cal cans.

Fishing a Jerk Bait
Thanks a lot guys. I now believe that most of you are actually either sales reps for or sponsored by LC! I just ordered my first two pointers off of ebay.

Smallmouth luck on Little Miami SW Ohio
You may want to look in regional reports or ask the question there rather than in the smallmouth section. I have never fished the little, but I have some good success on the Great Miami. I will say this, too; bassresource is by far the best forum for techniques/guidance/equipment reviews/ etc., but for fishing reports I would say go to www.ohiogamefishing.com and look under the regional fishing reports on there. They are typically not willing to share much information, but you are more likely to find some type of report on LMR there than you are on here. PM me anytime!

My son's first fishing trip
Thats some good stuff, how old is your boy? My son just turned two and I cannot wait to take him out fishing/water splashing.

So You Want to Build a Pond?
Yes I want to build a pond, someday. According to topo maps of my current property, and dammed water would fill the Middle School across the street. Lots of great structure!

TN Weather Conditions
At least you and your son got out on the water for a little while! Seems like the water is always higher or lower than it should be, which throws a wrench in any "fishing knowledge" I have!

Need finesse help
You didn't mention what type of line you are using or if your breakoffs are happening in the line or in the knot. I fish a lot with spinning gear using finesse techniques and I use 8 lb flouro almost exclusively with a palomar knot and have not had more than a handful of line breaks, as opposed to breaking off constantly with mono.

Count me in, another Buckeye on board! FL/TX/CA guys- you get to catch Hawgs almost year-round, that is better than winning this or any contest!

I attempt it quite a bit, but I think I could learn a lot from a video!

I'm honestly scared now.
I agree that U.S. Auto makers have had this coming for some time. Where I live in Ohio, there are 4 Honda plants within about 20 mile radius. Needless to say, our area depends on Honda plants and the many local parts/service suppliers. I've worked in the Honda Marysville plant and have always admired their eye on the future, and their expectations for what the auto market would bring. Honda has been making great fuel-efficient cars for years and for far too long the U.S. auto makers have only seemed to care about towing capacity and horsepower rating. Simply put, U.S. auto companies just assumed they would continue selling cars and never planned on adapting their plans

CASTING
You could watch someone on DVD do it for hours and learn about as much as you would practicing your casting for 30 minutes. Practice is the only way to work out the kinks and get the feel of it.

I don't know how it happened
All winter long I sit here organizing tackle and complaining about the temperatures while longing for spring. Today is the first day the temp will hit 60, and of course I am stuck here at work anxious to go fishing. Before I even knew what happened I placed another $50 order with tackle warehouse! Who is supposed to be in charge of this monkey?!?!

Newbies, junk lure threads and the search function.
I will say I agree that the search function can be confusing. The easy and obvious (for newbies) way to search is to just type in what you want to search for in the search window next to the magnifying glass on the upper right. However, it took me a couple of newbie posts and gentler "why don't you try searching for it" remarks before I figured out how much more beneficial it is to click on search (right between "help" and "members") on the toolbar. I think a lot of folks, especially newbies just assume you get the same search results from the window search as you do by clicking the search tab. My advice would be to simply take away the quick search window so everyone has to use the search tab

Fin tech title shot jigs?
I asked the same thing several months back about both the title shot and the knuckle ball jigs. I didn't get any replies, so I either assume no one has heard of them, no one uses them, or they keep them secret! I can think of several instances where they appear they would work. I think I am going to order a couple of each. I noticed bass pro in Toledo,OH had a few of the nuckle ball jigs for walleye, but not the bass version

need help on choosing right jig head for tube's

Cold Water River Fishing
I'm in the same boat with you, man. I am just gearing up to start fishing for smallies in the Great Miami River in Dayton, OH. Same conditions you are facing we have here. I went down to the water yesterday and it was probably still in the 30s (water temp, it was 18 outside). http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/hair_jigs.html

Charlie Moore TV
based on past discussions on here about fishing shows, I think that you will find 90% of the people on here agree. I think the remaining 10% are idiots

Mildew removal
I would have no idea on a dollar value, but I would say I value those lures enough to clean them up a little (as carefully as possible) and put them in a case on my wall. That is a great little collection from the looks of it!

tube jig head w/ or w/o rattles?
I plan on fishing a lot of rivers this year, so I will likely be throwing a lot of tubes. All I used to rig tubes last year were different weights of the "bite me" brand jigheads with rattles. Anyone see a benefit/downfall with using the rattles??? are they necessary????

BPS Spring Classic.. What did you get?
Went to the Rossford (toledo), OHIO store yesterday and got to see Hank Parker and KVD. That place was crazy-busy. The Pros started at 12, so when we showed up at 11:30 we had to circle the parking lot of 15 minutes to catch a parking spot. It was great to see KVD and Hank up there giving tips. That place was a little too crowded for me, you could barely walk down the aisles. I managed to get out having spent just over $100, stocked up on eakins jigs, paca craws, rage lizards, and a couple xr50s.
