Do you really believe?
yes and no. go very slow, or very fast. if you know where the fish are, go slow, if you arent sure, burn a bait and get reaction strikes. I believe there are baits that work better in some seasons than others. No. No, lizards have produced for me year round. Sometimes. I try it from all angles, and generally find one is working better than the other. Depends on the night. Yes, not ALL bass learn, and not all bass have seen the lures in question. Yes. I am under the right circumstances.

froggy setup whatcha think
if its thick cover i like the leverage of a 7'6". until i started fishing for a certain rod company (dont think i can name them here) and found rods that i prefer i used a 7'6 fenwick techna av medium heavy and a 7'5 mossy back loomis having said that, i dont think you hurt yourself much w/ a 7'0"er especially if the action is right. i do think youll like it much better 6'6". the great thing to me about more rod length is that it makes up for a lot of my mistakes. if i dont hit the fish with too much slack the longer rod will make up for it, whereas the shorter rod will leave me climbing back in the opposite side of the boat.

Is the Spawn ON in florida?
saw big ones moving around but not locked on up on toho, but that was before the weather moved in. the next warm in connection w/ the right moon should pull in a pretty decent wave imo.

Best Knots for braid
because braid doesnt stretch it doesnt cinch as well. i had a lot of problem with braid slipping at first, then i started tying a double palomar knot and hitting the end of the tag w/ a lighter and have never slipped again. be sure to wet the line when you tighten it down. this guy goes through a couple more times than is necessary in my opinion.

Bluegills for bass... what is the preferred size? Fishing techniques?

Gran Torino
it wasnt long ago that people would have said, "morals, values or diversity in the community." if hearing this stuff on a daily basis is a part of that transition... ROLL TAPE!

lets see... here you have a story that reveals the transformations power of persistent and sacrificial love without being trite or short-cutting the process. you have powerful acting from a whole cast of characters. you have conflict of cultures and identities, which finds plausible resolution. you have a great window into a microcosm of the changing american identity. you have a subculture trying to define (and re-define) itself within that american experience. oh, i dont know... i guess your right... i should have popped in superbad and rolled tape.

Florida riggin
i only use these weights! the reason i do it is twofold: - i like using straight shank hooks because i think the hookup ratios are better, these weights enable me to use them without as much trouble from the bait sliding down the hook. - i fish a lot of heavy cover and i like the weight on the bait at all times to avoid hangups. there are other ways to accomplish the pegged weight approach. gambler* has a weight that has rubber in the middle of the hole so that when you put the line through you can peg the weight just by sliding it into place. you will have to use an offset hook (i like gamikatzu's* best) to keep the bait in place. also, you can peg the weight using a toothpick*. you can also use a rubber t-stop* to peg it. there is sometimes a problem pegging on lines smaller than 10lb test just based on the diameter. the weight that i prefer is bullet weights*, although gambler* is starting to make a nice screw in weight now too (better spring). if you are having trouble with the bait staying attached to weight, just take a pair of needle nose pliers* and spread out the spring just a bit and you will find that it will get a better bite on the plastic. *note i am not sponsored by gambler, gamikatzu, toothpick companies, t stop, bullet weight, or needle nose plier companies mentioned in my response, so i am in compliance with forum guidelines.

Harris - Kissimee - Central Florida Fishing Report
it all depends on where your boater takes you. what tournamen? gator or everglades? you may find that your boater is chasing spawning fish. there are limited waves of fish moving up if you get in the right areas. you may find that your boater is moving around trying to fish pre-spawners (your best bet for fish). then he'll be in 3-4ft of grass and bads, toads flukes worms in holes traps, etc. you may find that your boater is out working kicker trails. the upside to this would be that they will catchy so many little fish they'll probably get tired of it, and let you pull a limit of small fish out. if they go to cypress or hatch for pre-spawn youll should do well cause its open water traps and worms. of course if a front rolls in, who knows?

Frogs
if you are fishing in the heavy stuff and you give it a 3 count they have time to establish a couple maybe more points of contact, so you have to make sure you drive the hook in my opinion. im not clumsy man, i take offense! ive only fallen out of my boat once this year.

Great post but I just don't undestand how your having issues with bad hook ups on the spro. The number one reason why I went to the spro and continue to use it is GREAT hook ups. As long as I give the fish the proper time I'd say 90-95% of the time I've got the fish. Most of the time I'm also setting the hook at a extreme distance as well (thanks braid!). 1. superglue/epoxy at the nose eliminates the water problem from any hollow bodied toad. 2. when you have hooks on your frog that are more easily exposed, you will not be able to fish it in the heavy heavy cover. get a 7'2 - 7'6 stout rod w/ 40-65# braid and if the spro were made out of tire rubber you would still hookup. HIT EM!* *disclaimer, i have broken 7 rods in 2 years on the frog
