  1. As for the recoil, shotguns do give you a good push, but it's not as bad as the sharp crack of a large caliber deer rifle (30-06, 270, etc.). If you don't have it tight to your shoulder, it will hit you in the face, so keep it tight. For accuracy, if you get a rifle slug barrel or rifled choke tube, and rifle slugs or sabots, you shouldn't have a problem with hunitng accuracy out to 100 yds. With a smoothbore and old fashioned slugs, I'd limit it to 50-75 yards. A good low-power scope or aimpoint will make it much easier to be accurate.

I have the TomTom XL for our personal car and the Garmin Nuvi 670 for work. I like the TomTom better navigationally. The Garmin seems slow to load and readjust. Another thing, reload the maps/update regularly if you're in any sort of an urban area. It helps the unit connect to the satellites more efficiently.
  3. I'd use light braid and a short flouro leader if you want better sensitivity.
  4. You can't go wrong with 4 lb Trilene XL. Cheap and easy to get. Keep it fresh and you'll be happy. Let it get old/nicked/worn and you will be sad. I hear some people on here like them some sort of "hybrid" or another.
  5. Try EdAmerica or EdSouth and see what they have for your circumstances. I always had mine within a week of class starting if not before, and mine was always driect deposit (after I set it up as direct deposit).
  6. That's a big rod for blegill and crappie. I'm not saying it won't work, it's just big. But the silver lining would be you can throw pretty much any bass bug easily. They're also some rabbit strip flies that you can fish like a plastic worm/senko. Ad that to the buggers, clousers, poppers and such listed below and you should be good to go. One thing to save you some cash: Don't worry about getting special tippets or leaders, get some 10 to 14 lb mono and use that. Don't get the superlimp or it won't cast as well.
  7. Wooly buggers in various sizes and weights, you can fish these like jigs. Some clouser minnows, or like streamers in size eight on up, you can use these like flukes and/or jerkbaits. Foam sponge spiders and small poppers for bluegill. Deer hair mice work great for frog-type areas and fishing. Depending on your rod, i get some big perch or bluegill-imitating musky flies and use them like swimbaits. Go to a flyshop with some cash and just ask, they'll be more than happy to help you out.
  8. "For all we know that girl could be 200-300 lbs. " And we all know that she now hates RobbyZ5001!
  9. Usually clear or cloudy, why do you only drink brown liquor?
  10. It's like a super light whiskey/vodka combo with less alcohol. Some tastes more like bananas, some sweet, some dry, some has a ricey overtone, some is more minerally.

    Ryan Leaf? ;D
  12. I like to work a spook or popper down the current and let it wash into seams and eddies. Work it more slowly in the eddies and back into the current, washing it down to the next eddy or seam. This time of year, a topwater fish is hard to come by. I'd follow the advice above and try a 3" grub in teh deeper holes below riffles, or wait for a few warm sunny days in a row.

I wouldn't put Romo on there, and lately maybe not Eli yet (yes even though he has the ring). Big Ben I go back and forth on. Peyton is quickly becomng the best QB ever. On that note, back to the thread...everyone thinks you need a top caliber QB to win championships when in reality it's been shown that you really don't if you have good talent around an intelligent, competent QB. A great QB doesn't hurt mind you, but a good game manager can win you a Superbowl.
  14. Did you guys make it up to the sewage plant?
  15. Eased. my mistake, I get all worked up... 8-)
  16. That Spook has seen some fish. Lots of teethmarks.
  17. You got your product on time undamaged as promised. Your feedback could have a negative impact on their livelihood, even though they delivered their service as promised.
  18. I would say you were out of line for giving him a negative review just based on the packaging. If you got your deal, in good shape, in a timely manner, then the seller lived up to his/her end of the bargain. Busting them for a critique on their packaging is a little much.
  19. For the record they were 5 inch senkos.
  20. I got out today for about an hour and a half around high tide in and around Four Mile Run. Three fish, one solid 3, one 2+, and one with big ideas All caught on a gold damiki spinnerbaits fished tight in and over cover. Tried a jig and rage craw of varying shades, senkos, and a brief stint with a roostertail, but only hit fish on the Damiki.
  21. That's a chunk of a pickeral. What state are you in if you don't mind me asking?
  22. I figured it out after I thought about it; I'm sure it was an awesome fight until you reaized what it was, then it was just good . We used to catch them below Ft. Loudon dam while fishing for stripers; they give a god account of themselves.
  23. What's a 20 lb dumb dumb? Carp? Buffalo? Catfish?
  24. I've never had much luck with things like that other than as catfish bait. You can bend them to loosen them up a little and use them as jig trailers, but that's usually more mess than it's worth. However, your cat will love you. But not a bad bait for cats, especially in moving water.
