  1. Dredge Brush Jig, but splurge on the $.30 for wire tied. http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Dredge-Brush-Jig-490.htm
  2. Good stuff ^^^! Thanks for taking the time. I got to crawl around a Crestliner Basshawk 1750. I agree, the port console option makes it a little tight, and it also eats up some bow deck real estate. The other thing I notice, it was not easy to open and access the center rod storage. You really have to be in the seating pit, not on the deck. I guess I'm used to keeping the rods on the port side. Otherwise, I liked the boat. Was disappointed the Lund dealer didn't bring any Pro-V Bass. They seemed focused on the Fury and Impact models, and the larger, trolling style boats like the Baron. Crestliner had a bunch of these on display as well. It makes sense, given we're on Lake Ontario.
  3. It really depends on what and where I'm fishing. Dock skipping, I'll probably have to retie often. Drop shot on light line, I'll be retying often as well. Jig or T-rig in weeds on braid, not so much.
  4. That isn't chili if there's beans in it.
  5. Saw it in person at ge boat show yesterday. It’s really pretty nice. Simple, every thing you need and not overkill. The color is actually pretty sharp in person. Congrats to all you that are getting one.
  6. Xpress uses a saltwater safe coating on their bay and skiff models, as do most others. Ever see what all those salmon charter fishing boats are made out of in Alaska? Yep, aluminum.
  7. That's a really nice rod, the Mat Daddy: https://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/mat-daddy-helios-review.html Unfortunately not a spinner. You can definitely find an 8' H with similar action in the off shore department. Good stuff here!
  8. Can you support that with documentation? Everything on Inside Line points to adding the scent yourself, and nothing on a built in scent. I've always been told the scent is a users choice, not baked in.
  9. It's definitely easier to pitch a jig if you can stand.
  10. If it helped my memory, I'd bath in it.
  11. I caught that fish, and 6 in the same day, both on jigs.
  12. C'mon Man! Step up that game! My best kayak bass, 6-8:
  13. That's why I keep my bud, @Maico1 around.
  14. More drag and more capacity. 40# braid is like 10# mono. You also gain more IPT. The larger reel also balances out the heavier rod better, too. A 4000 is not much bigger than a 2500/3000 series.
  15. The Elcos work well, but don't match the lithium performance of Torqueedo. They used Elcos on 18' Tritons at the King Fisher Society, and they were like a hyper drive trolling motor.
  16. Just a few inches, but with cold temps and getting dumped right at rush hour = accidents galore. All four major arteries were parking lots by 7 am.
  17. For M to MH, I prefer X-fast. Once we start getting into slop fishing meat-sticks, I prefer a a more moderate action that engages the power of the rod across the entire rod for a lift and separate hookset.
  18. A Hobie PA14 is darn near a small boat, lol. They make a livewell for that boat, but a cooler with a pump that fits the tankwell will work too.
  19. Topwater and jerkbaits.

  21. No GYCB baits have scent, to my knowledge.
  22. Walleye rods rarely dip into even the medium power. Musky rods are too heavy, and spinning rods are almost non existent. Inshore, specifically the St. Croix Avid inshore is where you'll find PLENTY of options . I've set a few people up with rods from this series, and 4000-5000 size reels spooled with 40# braid, and they love them.
  23. Ochos are one the few "substitutes" that I really like. They are bit of a change up to the senko.
