Not So Confident With Jerk Baits
. Have you ever seen a dying baitfish near the surface? How about a small school of minnows or bream where one fish strays from the school? All a jerkbait does is try to imitate a dying baitfish. Try to make the bait glide or swim irregular. You can practice near the bank or boat side. Watch what the bait does when you twitch it with a quick snap of the rod. Then stop & let the bait come to a stop. After a short pause try again. All you are trying to do is make the bait look like it is stunned or disoriented. The more irregular you make it swim and quiver the more lifelike it will appear. Big fish eat little fish. Just try to make your soft or hard jerkbait look like a dying fish. After your first bite you will start to gain confidence real quick. I guarantee it.

Rx Progressive Lens....sunglasses??? Anyone Have Them...
You can get the progressive lenses for your regular glasses & wear fitovers for your polarized sunglasses. Or get new frames & progressive lenses with attachable clip on polarized sun glasses. Plan C would to see if they can make a polarized sunglasses in your progressive prescription.

Another Chance For A G. Loomis E 6 X
I think Tom has confused the new Shimano Zodias rod introduced about the same time as the new GLoomis E6X. The Zodias is produced in China in a shimano factory with Japanese equipment & engineering. The E6X is produced in Washington state at the original G Loomis factory.

Shimano Metanium Dc Reel - Initial Review / Impressions
I agree. But the only time you have to take the side plate off is to choses line type. Ordinarily you would to that prior to or just after spooling up.

Read the rules for yourself but I didn't see an age restriction.

Patrick From Lake Milton, Ohio
I was born & raised in Ohio. We used to live over by Lake Cable in Jackson Twp., North Canton mailing. That community used to be mostly cottages & bungalows but has converted to expensive housing with lake views. Sounds like Lake Milton has made a similar transformation.

General Braid Question
The smooth braids are more round in shape than the rough braids. The concept of 8 carrier braids versus 4 carrier braids was supposed to make the braid more round & a tighter weave. They were also touted as stronger. The smoother the braid & more roundness helps eliminate spool dig-in, reduces vibration & makes it quieter.

Rapala Shadowrap
Yes I just got two shadow raps today & noticed the split rings looked sprung & the hooks were a size too small for my liking. Hook tips were sticky sharp but they were light wire. I'll probably try them as is & then switch them out if they don't hold up.

Patrick From Lake Milton, Ohio
Welcome Patrick. I learned to water ski on your lake when I was in high school. A buddy's family had a cottage there.

Scott yes I do. I use that rod for Big EZ's on a 3/32 weighted owner screw lock hook. Also big dippers.

Spring Walleye
Jigs, blade baits & jigging spoons for vertical presentations. Jerkbaits for horizontal presentations. Walleye love bigger jerks like large size rapala husky jerks, smithwick rogues, LC pointers 100, 127 & 128's & rebel spoonbill minnows. Once the water warms they will hit crankbaits as well.

St. Croix Legend Xtreme Vs Loomis Nrx
I'm back! I own both & have fished them almost side to side. I think the NRX is slightly more sensitive but only slightly. You might not notice a difference because they are so close. I have a NRX 804 Fast Heavy & a LXC74HF also Heavy Fast. The Loomis is rated 5/16 to 3/4 oz & the Croix is rated 3/8 to 1 & 1/2 oz. These are the two rods that I am comparing for sensitivity.

G. Loomis Winner Announced!
Thank you Glenn for giving me the opportunity to enter the contest. Thanks to G. Loomis as well. I chose the 845C CBR model to use for crankbaits & jerkbaits on Lake Erie smallmouth as soon as the ice disappears. Thanks guys. I will try to offer up a review after I have had a chance to extensively slime it up on some brown bass.

I've Found A Good Deal On A Boat, Only Concern Is Motor Thirst.....
What year is the motor. Is it a pro XS? I can tell you the fuel consumption on my 2008 merc 250 pro XS is very reasonable, comparable to a 4 stroke.
