  1. Pb largemouth & smallmouth. Be instrumental in helping a few good friends pb as well.
  2. Correct. The stress is at the backlash or digin not the lure end. Braid is very strong on slow pull or gradual stress like a snag. But braid can not tolerate sudden impact forces because of the lack of stretch.
  3. If your casting motion is like a snap cast 30 or 40 lb braid will break at impact if you backlash or the braid digs into itself. It is especially aggravated by heavier baits . Braid has no stretch so when it is suddenly stopped it breaks. The solution to your problem is to go with heavier braid or control your casting motion to more of a lob cast with heavier baits.
  4. I'm interested in Tom's answer as well. My opinion is that a grest lakes smallmouth 6lb class is the equal to a 10lb FLMB. A 7lb class Great Lakes smallie is the equal to a 12-13 lb FLMB.
  5. Josh take a look at G Loomis HSR9000S IMX 7'-6". It is a great rod for big smallies. I have had both the 2 piece & now the one piece. It is a mag light extra fast- line 6-12lb -lure weight 1/4oz to 1/2oz.
  6. Nice one Darren. Looks like you are going to need a bigger bump board.
  7. I met my wife in college taking the same psychology course and recognized her as living in the same building that I did. It was a no brainer to walk her back to the dorm & I asked her out. We got married 18 months later in 1970.
  8. Strong off shore winds are fish able on Erie if your not to far off shore. I have had some killer days with strong SW winds.
  9. Congrats sir that is a beauty. Fish of a liketime.
  10. Just try to remember during the excitement of the moment to measure the length & girth & take some detailed pictures. Once the taxidermist matches the blank with your dimensions it is all about the details & painting. Good quality close up pictures will really help getting the fish coloration and markings correct.
  11. Cabelas, Bass pro shops has a saltwater side called offshore tackle & check out the musky shops like Rollie & Helens. Also each bait manufacture often has a saltwater division.
  12. For PA waters a largemouth bigger than speedbeads would be worthy of a replica. For smallmouth it would have to be your choice based on where you catch her.
  13. I find it amusing that a kid with a pb between 13-14 lbs and fishes the nile needs any help with fishing techniques. If that is the way you talk over there maybe you ought to learn how to talk over here. Your general disrespect for people more knowledgeable than yourself is a sure sign of immaturity.
  14. Hope it works out for you.
  15. That's a bummer for sure. Hope she heals quickly.
  16. Truly sorry to hear about your dad. My condolences.
  17. . In two weeks we are headed to lake baccarac Mexico. Four of the guys are El Salto veterans trying lake baccarac as a comparison to there mutile trips to El Salto. Stay tuned for their comparison. You might reconsider your destination .
  18. The new metanium & antares are shipped with spares rather than different weights. Somebody with the new curado I & chronarch C14+ need to answer for those. Previous generations did have different weight brake sets ( different colors).
  19. I feel your pain Eric.
  20. On lake erie east winds blow the colder water from the eastern basin westerly and it always has an adverse effect on the bite. Like a light switch it shuts down quickly.
  21. Looked like a sucker. My dog would have been a little rougher than that.
  22. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. It's not too late to learn that premise.
  23. I have watched Mike & Robert from the *** of Hawgtech and they have always been driven to deliver a superior product at a very fair price point. There customer service is second to none . Quality control has been excellent. And they continue to expand their product line & service to their customer base and beyond. The anodized parts opens a whole new avenue for customer satisfaction. Kudos to the Hawgtech team.
