  1. I use DD jerk baits more than regular suspenders but I have never experienced them blowing out like you described. You did hit upon an important technique that has been very effective for me. I insert a sweep of the rod or slow pull forward after my typical short jerks of getting the bait to dance left & right. The sweep accounts for a lot of hookups. I think it triggers a following fish to commit because it appears the distressed bait is trying to get away. They either hit it while I’m pulling the bait forward or right afterwards.
  2. Both TCU & OSU have open spots. It’s not one or the other.
  3. The talking heads have TCU in the top 4 even with the one loss. They lost in overtime in a very close game.
  4. Imagine the intrigue if both GA & MI lose.
  5. Yea that looks like a lotta fun. Heal quickly.
  6. Good to see you back out there Brad.
  7. Looks like the Utes did OSU and or Alabama a favor last night.
  8. Rapala husky jerk in glass perch color either regular suspend or DD suspend absolutely kills them. I think it caught over 20 smallies over 6 lbs in my boat including one at 7-2. The DD model in the largest size was the ticket for Lake Erie smallie in the 15-25 foot depths.
  9. As I recall @A-Jay caught his PB largemouth on a RES lipless.
  10. Yes 12 teams for 2024-2025 season. The top 4 teams will get byes into the quarterfinals.
  11. I caught my PB on a RES two tap so that is my favorite. I replace all stock hooks on lipless baits for trophy fishing. I do carry several other brands including Rattle Traps the original & the tungsten weighted model. I also like the SPRO aruku shads for their nose down attitude and the Duo Realis G-Fix with tungsten for a small size bait that weighs 3/4 oz great for both horizontal retrieves & vertical jigging.
  12. Have you tried the STX-38ZN hooks they are X+ supposed to be stronger than regular X hooks.
  13. St Croix has a line up for steelhead as well as the previous mentioned.
  14. Congrats to the Michigan fans. You were the better team & JJ really stepped up.
  15. And the C is for casting as opposed to S for spinning.
  16. The jon boat will be a lot more gator friendly than a kayak.
  17. While your there read up on the Certate by Jun the owner. I am a Shimano fan & always have been but I learned a long time ago that Daiwa makes a better spinning reel than Shimano for the buck spent with the Certate. The sealed line roller & pinion mag seal system is a step above & helps eliminate normal maintenance requirements. I have five different Certate models over the last ten years or so & I have never needed any maintenance on my reels.
  18. Just buy it & it will show up in your cart. Some manufacturers will not allow their dealers to advertise sale prices below manuf suggest retail prices. You will get the discount.
  19. The best JDM web site for explaining tackle differences is Japan Tackle.
  20. My theory is that the bass being ambush predators hear the entrance splash when your bait hits the water & they are tracking the noise/disturbance instantly. Most of my topwater bites occur when the bait first hits the water or shortly there after or just after the first few movements of working the bait.
  21. You have found the holy grail of sharp hooks. Evergreen baits rock. They are the only bait I buy that I never consider changing out stock hooks. I haven’t tried their blade bait yet but I will know since you brought it to my attention. Thanks.
