  1. First bass of 2023. Could not buy a hit on the top water popper but a Ima Flit jerk bait got bit.
  2. Just google back to back uni knot. If I can tie it successfully you can as well. You might even know how to tie a simple uni knot. Then you can use braid with a leader.
  3. Great introduction Pat glad to have you aboard.
  4. Yellow Magic popper fish. They are extremely effective. Like @Captain Phil said the hooks are super sharp.
  5. I'm a regular user of the Smithwick Rogue especially the DD style. I like using them on spinning tackle with 10lb braid & a 12lb mono leader. The standard Eagle claw hooks are good but I do replace them with owner Zo Wire hooks when they start to dull. Some of the newer versions come with gamakatsu hooks. I like to work them with a short pull to get them started then short taps or jerks with plenty of pauses in between. Some times I add in rod sweeps after the pause. I just caught my PB smallie on the DD model this last May. The deep diver will get down to 15-18 fow on 10lb braid with a long cast. The regular model will run 6-8 fow.
  6. I started wearing glasses when I was about 7 years old. Legally blind without them. Can't make out the first letter on the eye chart without them. Never liked contacts.
  7. They are all beautiful. Nice work. Have you tried tying a simple black bunny fly made from rabbit fur? They are killer on early spring pike as they mimic leeches. After ice out the leeches emerge from the mud bottom bays and are one of the early meals a pike can rely on.
  8. None of us knows but I always figured that the bass could see as well as I can regarding water clarity. If I can see bottom in 10' or 20' feet of water they see a bait above them the same distance. Also add a wake bait to your top water arsenal.
  9. I could not have said it better. I bought jigs from Bill way back when.
  10. He was hit in the chest by the other players shoulder. It must have stopped his heart. News coverage said the cpr restarted his heart while on the field. Hopefully he recovers.
  11. Smithwick deep rattlin' rogue, 6" model.
  12. Hey it was a good game to watch. TSU was the better team but it was close. No shame to lose that game.
  13. Just like last year a new PB and stay healthy.
  14. Your smallmouth might be a PB also.
  15. What is the biggest or heaviest fish you have caught on this bait? I know those that use it regularly like it.
  16. Nothing wrong with a nice cold Yuengling.
  17. Good health & happiness to all with some PB luck sprinkled in.
  18. I'm hoping for a miracle. And then revenge.
  19. A-Jay's post inspired me to start a thread of your best five smallies ever. Post up the pics & weights. My best five went 7-7 3/4, 7-6, 6-15, 6-14 & 6-12. Total weight 35.42 lbs.
  20. I have both but prefer the zip up ones because they are easier to get on & you can ventilate them if you get too warm. My favorites are the heavy lined ones which I wear as a final layer except if it's raining.
