  1. I have both x-raps and pointers. Both definately catch fish, but more often than not I find myself reaching for the pointer. They have better components and fantasitic colors. JMO!
  2. 75 of its proceeds go to charity. Oh, I didn't see that. In that case, the thing would have to be made out of solid gold and signed by KVD, or its proceeds would have to go to charity. You know, that would be a easy way to explain a $100 plus dollar lure to your wife, "Hunny, i bought it to help these poor children." The best part is it would be true.
  3. When you paying that much for a lure the shipping should be free! That thing would have to be made of solid gold and signed by KVD himself before I would shell out that much dough.
  4. I hope this isn't a topic thats been covered a million times before, but... what is the most you would be willing to spend on one lure. I saw this thing for sale and it made me wonder how much people would actually spend on a lure that was going to be used (not a collectors item). Personally, the most I could see myself spending on a lure is $30 for a hardbait or $50 for a swimbait. Check out this outlandishly priced lure: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300203215971&ssPageName=MERC_VI_RSCC_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=300212905574&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=active_view_item&usedrule1=StoreCatToStoreCat&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget&_trksid=p284.m184&_trkparms=algo%3DDR%26its%3DS%252BI%252BSS%26itu%3DISS%252BUCI%252BSI%26otn%3D4
  5. I'm not talking about buying them, I'm saying that they are perhaps the most gorgeous crankbaits I've ever seen. Fifteen dollars for a lucky craft hurts my wallet enough, $65 is ridiculous.
  6. I saw these babies and I started drooling on my keyboard. These things have some sick finishes with a price to match. Has anybody tried any of them? http://cgi.ebay.com/CBT-Custom-Painted-Lucky-Craft-RC-2-5-Kota-Brwon_W0QQitemZ160226737047QQihZ006QQcategoryZ7300QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Custom-Painted-Lucky-Craft-RC-2-5-DD-Crankbait_W0QQitemZ350043871534QQihZ022QQcategoryZ7300QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/BMN-Exotic-Lucky-Craft-RC-2-5-custom-painted-lure-HD_W0QQitemZ180230717771QQihZ008QQcategoryZ7300QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300203215971&ssPageName=MERC_VI_RSCC_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=300212905574&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=active_view_item&usedrule1=StoreCatToStoreCat&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget&_trksid=p284.m184&_trkparms=algo%3DDR%26its%3DS%252BI%252BSS%26itu%3DISS%252BUCI%252BSI%26otn%3D4 http://cgi.ebay.com/Megabass-or-Lucky-Craft-custom-painted-by-Tater_W0QQitemZ300215340719QQihZ020QQcategoryZ7300QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. If you total your truck on the way home from a fishing trip and the lost fishing gear costs more to replace than the truck does. If you have ever gone to Bass Pro Shops to get fishing line and came home with a new boat If you have put more miles on your boat than you have on your car If you are on a first name basis with with three or more of the cashiers that work at the local Bass Pro Shops
  8. Thanks, I'll give em' a try.
  9. I'm fishing a local tournament on the susquehanna river this weekend. The problem is that I have little experience on the river. Does anyone have any tips regarding lure choice? I was thinking about trying jerkbaits but the river is high right now so it is pretty muddy. Anybody have any ideas?
  10. I really like excel, especially considering the price.
  11. Rat l trap and the strike king red eye
  12. Anything under the legal minimum, or a fish that is legal, but really small for that particularly lake.
  13. I love to wacky rig mini senkos. I have had a ton of success with 3" inchers but I have never seen or heard of 2" inch senkos. Where do you get them.
  14. I have tried red line and I haven't noticed any difference between it and other lines I've used. I personally don't like it. On the other hand, I do put red hooks on most of my shallow cranks, topwaters, and plastics. Last summer I did an experiment with wacky rigged senkos with red hooks and with black hooks. The senko with red hooks caught about 25% more fish than the senko with black hooks. That said, I was a little more confident with the red hook and that may have effected my results
  15. I bought every series of the SK Pro Model in sexy shad. I haven't tried any yet though, most of the lakes are still semi-frozen here. I have talked to other people who have had a lot of success with them.
  16. Thanks I'll try that. Maybe it'll get read of the chemical smell too.
  17. How do the Bass Magic and Shadalicious compare? I picked up a couple packs of both at BPS and they seem about the same, quality wise. Has anybody fished both of them?
  18. I love terminators, both the super stainless and the T-1s. Like others said I can't wait until the T-2's go on sale at BPS. I'll probably end up buying a couple dozen. I also have been really impressed with the Strike King KVD spinnerbaits.
  19. I don't think that you can pick one lipless crankbait that will always perform the best because they all have different sounds. That said, if I had to choose I would go with Rat-L-Traps.
  20. Rebel Pop-Rs and skitterpops. They both are fantastic poppers. I also like the xps z-pops after the hooks are replaced.
  21. Yeah, jigs should definately be a choice.
  22. I couldn't agree more. The book is mostlly filled with highly opinionated observations of captive bass in tanks. That said, the book does have some valuable information about the way bass smell and perceive color.
  23. In-Fisherman Largemouth Bass Handbook of Strategies is by far the best bass fishing book I have ever read. I have reread it five or six times and I still pick up new things. There is also a In-Fisherman Smallmouth Bass Handbook of Strategies that is good, although its not nearly as detailed as the largemouth one.
