  1. Wow, both of us gave them too much credit! (The thing is....they'll probably backordering them by the end of the week!)
  2. ....and it should greatly improve your SIGHT fishing!
  3. Might be $6 for 8 knowing them. ;D The plastic they use is special you know.
  4. Yeah, thats insane! Almost 20# in one hour to seal the victory. I doubt anybody has ever showed back up at the ramp 5 hours before weigh-in and never wet a line the rest of the day. Thats what you call "in the bag".
  5. Is that Ben23 in the Tackle Tour photo?
  6. Thats what you get for choosing a dropshot over a crankbait.....never underestimate the power of a crankbait! ;D ;D But thats a big smallie no matter what it was caught with! WAY TO GO!
  7. Matt, are you talking about Gaston? I'd stick with the carolina rig fishing that deep but I'd switch up baits until something happened. But if that didnt work, I'd have to break out a Mann's 20+ with super sticky hooks....but thats just me....I have a ton of confidence in deep cranks.
  8. I'm with cart7 on this one. jbmaine's wife should've pulled/pushed/trolled the boat to the end of the dock until jbmaine's trailer was backed into the water. At a busy ramp you should expect someone to try to launch while you're going for your trailer and prepare for that accordingly.(train the wife or just tie the boat to the end of the dock, out of the way to begin with.)
  9. I guess. : I'll be the first to say, it's a little disappointing to come into an area and see people sitting on the spots you've sunk brush, especially this time of year. Sure, it happens but it's no fun for the guys who actually take the time and energy to sink brushpiles or other things, just to have others cruising around and accidentally finding them, then coming back to them everytime they're out. If the intention was to let everyone know where they were, we'd just attach buoys to the piles before sinking them. And I doubt you'll find any with buoys or markers on them, unless your state or local Game Dept sinks them. Remember, I'm not saying it's wrong. But if you are one who puts cover in for the fish, you know its disappointing to see someone sitting on it.....especially during a tournament.
  10. This thread should answer all of your senko questions. Its a tacked thread up in the first part of the Tackle page. Enjoy! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1121527643
  11. I agree with you Mike. I had the pleasure of meeting Glenn in person down at Fork....he's a heck of a guy and a great fisherman. I hope the vendors/attendees at ICAST will take notice of what Glenn has put together here. It can be a powerful tool if they'll take the time and money to try it out.
  12. If you cant locate anything offshore in deeper water, find some deep docks. A good way to identify the deeper docks is that they'll be floating docks (with no posts.) There's always fish around docks. Just fish them slow and be thorough about it. Senko's, jigs, shakyhead.
  13. Jigs, flukes and the Fat Ika has recently been added to my skipping baits as well.

Hey Chris, let me ask you something. You may have been asked the same thing before but here it is.....when you're on the water, do you just chuck the swims ALL DAY? Do you ever throw anything else during your 12 and 14 hour trips? I'm just curious, I would probably have to throw something else for at least a little while just to break up the many hours of not getting bit and maybe hang a few 5 and 6 pounders in the process. If you strictly throw swims all day and nothing else, is it because you feel the next WR will be caught with a swim?
  15. Welcome to the forums! You may want to post this thread in the regional section to get the most exposure and most likely more accurate answers. I would move it for you but I'm not sure if your talking about Perryville Texas or Perryville Maryland. Let me know if I can help you.
  16. Evidently Kistler has someone close to them that buys the recon rods to resell for themselves or they list them for Kistler under an assumed name. They are always sold by the same seller, you'll notice the name if you watch the eBay Kistler's enough. I'm not real sure what the deal is with the broken/recon rods but compared to the number of rods they sell, the amount of recons that are sold on eBay is probably a very small percentage of their overall sales. I probably wouldnt consider buying a recon unless it had not lost any of its length while being repaired but thats just me, I'm sure people who buy the recons are happy to get a good quality rod for a fraction of the new price.
  17. Up north? Come on man, Virginia is below the Mason-Dixon line! ;D ...we dont want anybody to get confused. Nice smallies DD!
  18. I clicked this thread expecting to see some Gaston bass.....but the ones you got will work just fine! Good goin' fellas!

He obviously gets plenty of practice. Aside from being very impressed with the monsters he's always catchin', I'm amazed that he usually gets the whole fish in the pic.....nice one again Chris!
  20. ...or a Kistler Magnesium TS
  21. So what would be your answer to the original question? If there are in fact more aggressive bass in a school....wouldnt they hit pretty much whatever you threw as long as it looked good, you know, since they are more aggressive?
  22. After reading a reply in another thread, I have a question. Raul says that he'd throw a topwater bait first to catch the most aggressive bass..... BUT If there are in fact more aggressive bass in a school....wouldnt they hit pretty much whatever you threw as long as it looked good, you know, since they are more aggressive? Just something to think about.
  23. Are there pics of this fish anywhere yet?
  24. At the lower end of the lake, that is basically what I am looking at. The shoreline itself is not steep banked but ten feet into the lake is a rock ledge that drops quickly to 15 or more FOW. Thats where I'd be then, right along that ledge, probably with some little wimpy shaky worm or finesse jig in watermelon or green pumpkin, just bumping them along, up and down the ledge. But if I couldnt get bit with that, I'd probably bust out my deep crank rod and a LC CBD20 and start banging it around that ledge trying for that reaction strike.
  25. Me too, thats a hawg of a perch you got there T-Rig!
