....or a Gambler Boat ;D I say 6-7 rods max should cover 95% of all situations.
  2. I have the 2500 on it,a 1000 would be a great choice also if you arent ever putting anything over 6# on it.
  3. Hey Chuck, check your message box! Thanks.
  4. I've got a 6'10" G-Blank Medium, split rear grip,no foregrip,it's super-light and sensitive. If a fish even gets near my bait,I know it. I've got a Shimano Stradic attached to it.....the Shimano Posse would be proud.

Sounds like Alpster Claus hooked you up!
  6. I've got 2 Revo STX burners and they are SWEET!
  7. I use split grips for anything that I'm not constantly reeling......flippin rod, texas rig rod,c-rig rod and all my spinning rods.I dont think they are necessary on crankbait or spinnerbait rods where the fish just jump on your lure all at once and feeling the bite isnt real important.
  8. I like the Sliders anytime bass are suspended under the docks.I try to use something bulky like a lizard or any bait that floats well (like the 3X stuff).
  9. I knew someone would take my post deeper than it was intended to be. EW,in no way am I saying that Ike compares to Earnhardt in the "being a legend" dept......I am simply just pointing out similarities in the way they carried themselves and performed on the track and on the lake. Both are controversial but both are exceptional talents. I also disagree with the "he has a long way to go to be considered one of the greats" statement you made. In my opinion, any angler that has a BMC and AOY under their belt has proved to be one of the greats already.....Ike's got a long way to go and he can only get better.Who knows how far his career will go?
  10. I'm yet to see one on the water that would run 80MPH? key words: "on the water"......I've seen some Bass Cats doing 80+ on the trailer going down the interstate!
  11. I see what you are saying RW but like him or not,he's probably 2nd on the popularity list behind KVD,so "most popular" maybe wasnt the best choice of words. Ike and his popularity is akin to the late great Dale Earnhardt (R.I.P.) .......you either loved him or hated him but you always wanted him on the track and in the race. People who disliked Earnhardt didnt want him to win but it meant alot that he was in the race.Earnhardt was the most controversial NASCAR driver throughout most of his career but he was always near the top in popularity and the guy flat out put people in the seats at all the tracks.....everyone just wanted to see what he was going to do next. Sound familiar?
  12. I dont know one way or the other but the marketing folks at Bass Cat obviously think it will.Certainly cant hurt having the most popular and most recognizable Elite Angler on staff.
  13. I am seeing more and more Bass Cats on the water each year, they are building quite a following.Having Ike representing is only going to give them that much more exposure......I think Bass Cat picked up the most marketable guy around and it will probably pay off big time for them. I wanted him in a Gambler actually but I guess they are way too fast for him. ;D
  14. Was just announced on the BassCat site.
  15. I think the Magnesium crankbait rod is a composite.....is that correct? That would explain the "bigger" blank. The Kistler Mag's are real nice rods and very light.Merry Christmas Raul!
  16. .....but is that rock by that dock warming the water? :-?
  17. Shorty just dove head first off the deep end! Ease up man,Russ didnt steal your camera although it sounds like a real nice one and I'm sure he'd like to have it. ;D The brown truck was coming down my street today and I said to the wife... "What can brown do for ME?" (knowing that I have BPS stuff coming)......she just laughed at first, then laughed even harder as he just drove on by without stopping! Then she says "He's not doing anything for you today, better luck tomorrow big guy"! > ;D
  18. I see 4 Chronarch Mg50's in your future! Thats awesome man,be sure to let us know what you buy with it.Congrats!
  19. I really like the sure sets and try to put at least one set on just about every open water crankbait I have (that's getting expensive by the way) .....I dont put them on any cranks(square lips) that I fish trees or brush with though.I also use them on most of my jerkbaits.
  20. FIN S R,thats deep man.....my brain got a little scrambled in paragraph 2 but I was able to regroup. ;D So,in short, you are saying that rocks will absorb and retain heat but to warm the water around the rock,it will take a good bit of time.
  21. avid's word of the day: extrapolate
  22. craw's thread about conflicting theories got me thinking..... How many of you believe that rocks heat up when in direct sunlight and hold heat? I always hear people talking about it and personally,I believe the rock/heat thought process. However,I have also read that rocks do not heat up nor hold heat when underwater...... ......so which is it?
  23. Russ, he worked just about 5 years unloading inside before he got the driving job.....he wasnt one of the "walk-ins"....he worked full time with me during the day and went in part-time at UPS in the evenings.
