RIP Dick Winters
The sad thing is the latest exploits of some jackass celebrity or athlete gets all of the attention. Not that he would have wanted a big fuss, but that's beside the point.

baitcast reels
It almost seems you are basing a purchase solely on price without regard to anything else. Makes no sense to me at all.

Senko: Is it Evil?
Well put. Senkos are the Leatherman Multi-Tool of the bait world. Ok for a variety of situations but not the best choice for most of them.

KVD's sponsors products?
Why does everyone lose sight of the fact that what brand of gear a pro fishes with has almost ZERO bearing on their success ? As far as someone coming along and waiving more $$ in front of him to get him to jump ship, it doesn't always work like that. There's a relationship there that's taken a long time to develop. There is no price tag on that. Now if, for example, Strike King sold out and the new owner cheapened the product to the point of it being an embarrassment, that may cause him to bail. It wouldn't be the first time that has happened.

Educate me on Tube fishing
To keep all of this in perspective, the wacky rig was allegedly 'invented' by a fishing guide's inexperienced client some years ago.

Okay, so what do you think about this ???
My youngest daughter got one for Christmas. I think she had it on for about a week straight and even slept in it.

Which Rod/Reel?
The two I suggested may be better as they are "low profile" knots which will go through the line guides with minimal resistance. Your surgeon's knot would work, it's just a bit bulky.
-
Which Rod/Reel?
I know nothing about fly fishing. Here's a site which will help you. http://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishing.php Leader length is a personal preference thing. Some use 2', I use about 6'. There is no right or wrong. Just get the knot correct. The Albright and Blood knots are a good start.

Which Rod/Reel?
sounds good, I think I might go with that, I just wanted the challenge of a baitcaster and it gives you a lot of control, but I'm not using it much so a spinning is fine. What kind of line should I be using, I have no clue?[/quote] Oh boy, you went and did it now... ;D First and foremost, DO NOT exceed 8 lb test for spinning gear if you go with mono. Anything heavier will give you line issues that are no fun. I myself use braid on my spinning outfits and use a mono leader. That's just me, there will be 100 different opinions on line. Get ready.

Shimano stradic FG
Shimano wet binding issues were for real some years ago. I had a Sahara that drove me nuts. I'm pretty sure that particular problem ran it's course some time ago.

Can I...?
x2. Or a small t-rig Or a 3 to 4" grub t rigged on a 1/0 hook. Don't be afraid to downsize. Downsize does not always = dink.

Anyone with directv here?
The whole "200+ channels" thing never appealed to me. Often theres a lot of crap in there just to take up space like the cat channel, the knitting channel, etc. I never understood why they couldn't offer a basic package for an agreed upon price and offer additional channels (the ones you would actually watch) on an ala cart basis. You would obviously pay for the additional channels, but they would be of your choosing. oops, there I go using logic and common sense again. I'll shut up now :-X

Anyone with directv here?
I had a similar thread on this a few weeks back. I ended up staying with Comcast as they have exclusive rights to the Phillies and Flyers in my area and won't share the signal with satellite providers. All of my research into the different service providers and options available lead me to one conclusion - It's like being asked if you'd like being hit in the face with a shovel or kicked in the groin with heavy boots. I would love to dump Comcast, but it's just not an option now.

Something you guys might want to know
You may have given them some of this info when you registered a product for warranty coverage. Often there's a section in the registration section that asks, among other things, income bracket ie; $30,000-$49,000 $49,000-$60,000 $60,000-$79,000 etc. This info is NOT required for warranty coverage. All they need is your name, address and phone #. Same thing for when the cashier or the debit card machine asks for your zip code. Just give them the wrong one. It's not a quiz, it's strictly for marketing.
