  1. I went to a pond close by my house this morning at day break. The wind has been blowing fairly hard this week due to the hurricane so I was glad it died down for a little while this morning so I could wet a line. I did not have a lot of time so I only brought one rod and used a zara spook jr. I caught 3 fish and missed several others. Here is a picture of the biggest.
  2. I think the dancin' eel catches a lot more fisherman than fish ;D
  3. It could be worse. Just be thankful that you are alright. I do understand your pain though. When Ivan hit it pushed a lot of saltwater into lake Shelby and destroyed the bass fishing.
  4. That sounds like a great fishing hole!!
  5. I heard on the news that a station in Arkansas was selling gas for $8/gallon
  6. I would exchange it. I don't know about Cabela's, but BPS will exchange a reel w/o a receipt or box.
  7. That fish has not missed a meal ;D I love using frogs.
  8. WOW!!! I hope you filled up last night. I paid $3.67 @ Chevron this morning at 7:30.
  9. I live in Lower Alabama and we have already began to see the effects of waves coupled with higher than usual tides starting yesterday. The causeway along Mobile bay was tempoarily under water. Flooding along the beach road in Gulfshores. Waves over 10-15' have been reported. Flooding on Dauphin Island and along Ft. Morgan. Even as far away as Ft. Walton beach (3 hours from me) Hwy 98 was closed beacause the road was partially underwater. This storm is huge!!! While the winds right now are only 105mph. I heard that due to the shallow nature of Texas' coast that they are expecting a surge that is normally associated with a CAT 4 or 5 storm. I hope all our friends in Texas and Louisiana are OK!!!
  10. Ed, Ed, Ed, we ain't going fishin' without the trilene! I have used Trilene XL 12# for quite some time and I am very pleased, especially with how it casts. The ponds that I fish do not have a lot of cover or grassbeds so I RARELY break off. If you are fishing really heavy grass, you may want to pick another line. i also like the fact that this line is realtively inexpensive, which allows me to change my line frequently.
  11. Whoa.... I thought my 20 pager on the election of 1848 was bad.

  16. Very nice!!! It is very refreshing to see young people having good clean fun. Nice fish too.
  17. I'm glad you had a nice outing. Looks like I will have to keep the bass occupied until you return.
  18. Run Through the Jungle- CCR
  19. I can't wait!!!!! It seems like we still have two months of summer left :'( A friend of mine says we only have two seasons: 9 months of summer and 3 months until sumer ;D
  20. RW- That is a very nice gesture! I told my uncle Cletus and he said he will take you up on the offer. I would invite him to my house but he is a little rough around the edges. If he puts ketchup on your ribs or tries to use one of your Loomis rods to scratch his hind quarters, he does not mean any disrespect. Here is a pic of my uncle and his family
