  1. He is awesome. I will never in my life forget that epic putt several years ago when the ball just sat on the edge of the cup for what seemed like an eternity before falling in the cup.
  2. I like (live)shrimp the best but pilchards and cigar minnows work great too. With shrimp I would use a poppin cork. With bait try the bottom or normal cork. I was in the keys last month and we caught a TON of speckled trout and lady fish. I lost a tarpon that was close to 10 lbs on a light spinning rod > If you catch anything small, use it for bait. You should pick up some pompanos off the beach. Keep your eyes peeled for sand fleas as they make great bait. Make sure you bring bug spray with as much DEET as possible.
  3. That is a great fish, very pretty.
  4. I chose mono because it is cheap, casts great, and mainly it is what I am used to.
  5. I would imagine 1-2 lbs. That's a real nice fish. You may want to check your scale beacuse it looks closer to 8lbs.
  6. Great looking fish. I think I might go get some frogs today.
  7. I will be in Millbrook/Pratville area(near BPS) between June 23-27. Would anyone with a boat like to fish one of the nearby lakes or rivers? I would be glad to split gas. I have all my own gear. If not does anyone know of any ponds to fish in the area?
  8. Great fish!! I would love to go fishing in your area.
  9. That bass is so fat in that last picture
  10. Try do go at the same time of the day that you caught fish. Also consider if the conditions are different or if you had any rainstorms move in and out in between your two trips.
  11. Glad to here you are ok. I was in Panama one time and I got stuck in a very nasty mudpit. It was up a little over my knees, not a good feeling considering there are jaguars and snakes around. When I managed to get out about 20 minutes later it felt like all my energy was sucked out of me.
  12. Go to a tackle shop and get a sabiki rig. It is used to catch baitfish of various sizes. It is a strip of line with a lot of tiny hooks (6-10)dressed with feathers, mylar, yarn, or some other decorative material that most baitfish enjoy. I think walmart has them too. This rig can be used at the dock or out in open water at different depths, if you have enough weight on it. If you catch any french grunts or beeliner snappers rig them up live or butterfly them and use them as bait. You will catch some monsters. Good luck!!
  13. Great fish, boss!! You must be related hawg caller ;D
  14. With all due respect, I can't believe you thought that was a good idea ;D I hope you have a real comfy couch. Don't you know that most women would rather have something that is non-practical like a piece of carbon that has been compressed for millions of years and sold by a company that manipulates the available supply to lead the consumer to believe that there is a shortage of the product thus greatly increasing its value and percieved worth :
  15. That's a good lookin fish. Keep up the good work.
  16. Last time I was given anesthesia I woke up with dirty britches because I ate the night before when the doctor told me not to :'( It was mexican too :'( :'(
  17. Sorry to hear that dude. I hate thieves so much. If it is any conselation maybe the low lifes that stole your goods will OD.
  18. If you want to buy a house now is the best time to do it. I have never heard of a bass boat that increases in value. If you are single, find a roomate charge him/her rent and put that money towards the monthly payment on a new boat ;D
  19. Tell them that the local water treatment facility pumps large amounts of untreated sewage into the pond and that eating the fish could cause adverse effects to their health. If that does not work I suggest the use of claymores or some other booby trap like digging a hole under their favorite spot and covering it with branches and grass/leaves. ;D
  20. Don't stress about not catching a hog. Your chances are very good that if you keep doing what you are doing and you try to learn a little more each trip the big one will come if you fish waters that hold big fish. From what I have read in your post and have seen from the pictures of fish you have posted you seem to be very excited about fishing and thirst for knowledge on the subject, which are essential to being a successful fisherman. Just continue to be patient and enjoy EVERY single bass you catch. I turn 29 next month and I have been fresh and saltwater fishing since I was in diapers. Until this year the biggest bass I have ever caught was between 3-4 lbs. This year I have been very lucky. I have caught my PB of 7+ , more than a dozen fish between 4-6, and lots of fish around 3lbs. I know a lot of people that only want to catch big fish or could not care less if they catch a fish < 3lbs. I am the type of angler that loves every bass I catch no matter how small. I always have a great time fishing. Keep up the good work and be patient!!
  21. 50lb spoonbill cat
