  1. Hmm well, I have a Cables Pro Guide IM6, a "pro tournament", and a few quantum IM6 combos. The Pro Tournament was bought at a local tackle shop. I also own a Quantum Tenacity fro dicks.
  2. For several occasions I have seen Largemouth bass and bluegills in the same areas, this how me that they are not hot on the eating list, but man Pike came up and snagged some bluegills.

My friend caught a bug one when we were bass fishing, we spotted it just laying on the bottmo and he ended up catching it, man this thing was ugly.
  5. Once I get my avid (in about two weeks), I will see if I can feel it. I cannot wait....I hope there is a significance difference in sensitivity.
  6. I just bought a used 18ft fish and ski for $3000, the thing is, start with a little boat and it will help you with boat control and help you learn how to use a boat without having a huge bass rig that you are worried about scratching. So the boat you talked about would fit that, something that work, has a decent motor, helps you learn boating things, and if you scratch it you won't be worried about your pretty gel coat. Start with little and upgrade. and also used boats have things you atre not used to, like the owner of my original boat knew to shake the key when starting...I did not...had to get towed back. New boats start you out fresh.
  7. That is the reason figured why they would make them telescopic.
  8. Well my father loves JV Tackle, and they fixed his rod tip in about 5 minutes so it looks like they know whwat they are doing. I will wait for someone else to respond on where to get it serviced.
  9. Lived the first 13 years on rapalas .
  10. Ok so my cottage is located in ontario, there are some huge smallmouth (I went snorkeling and saw a few 5lb+) My question is why am i only catching the little ones? I found an off shore structure that comes up to a flat that is about 5ft deep and on both sides it drops to 20 or 25 feet, I thought this would be wonderful, I could fish this thing forever but cant seem to pull out a huge fish. There is both walleye and largemouth and I have caught several at this location. Where do I find the big smallies? Ik their int here its not a pressured lake and I see a ton of smallmouth, I just don't know where the lunkers hide. Any help?
  11. Oops, yeah same thing lol, pretty much any shimano would be a good starting reel, to be honest I started with a Baitcaster that was attached to an ugly stick (Dicks Combo). My next step was a cheap daiwa combo, but because i started with terrible reels IMO it makes me a better caster. Pretty much everything in fishing comes down to personal opinion, you only ask questions to see what the majority likes so you have a better chance of liking it. If there was a perfect baitcaster that had the perfect casting and smothness then it would be elite, but everyone looks at every reel differently, I.E when I say quantum on this forum everyone thinks it bad, but there are a few (maybe several) who thinks it is as good as other brands out there. Just my opinion
  12. Today I found the perfect mix, a place were I could cast far and not get any backlashes, I completly unscrewed my spool tension nob, and put my brakes at about 5-6 not sure, (By the way I have a Quantum Tour Edition PT). I could cast with no overruns, as soon as i set it one break lower I would get an overrun. So my suggestion to you is go in your backyard and just practice and see where your limit is, your's could be brakes off tension off, it all depends on the person. Find what works best for you!
  13. Ok so I have seen a few through some research, only problem is that I am not sure what this means. Does it just pull out like one of those cheap kids light saber toys? and Does it lose sensitivity? Why make a telescopic rod rather than just a one piece?
  14. Organize according to fishing style, dropshot box=dropshot worms, shaky head box=shaky head worms etc. makes changing a whole lot easier. Youll like that reriggerman lol
  15. Ok well I have pretty much done the reaserch for you...I have been looking at quality rods for about 3 months and settled on the Avid, and for the reel, man I swear If i get the money I will buy one of them. Yeah you can get the revo, but its a $100 reel with a $30 rod :-/, and IMO the rod should be the better component. So if you dont take that deal I will talk to him and see lol jk. But Ik for you're first purchase you want to buy something at a store (I just did the same...turned down a few good deals just to get it from a store). But ill tell you it's a good deal as long as the reel is working and the rod blank is fine, you will get one heck of a deal. If you dont feel comfortable just do the Mojo and Extreme, not best of the best, but I am sure you wil be happy with them.
  16. O yeah, I played lacrosse for a year, really big at my school. I was athletic in highschool, fast strong uk the works, but when i tried lacrosse it takes so much mental aspects to be good, I failed miserably, one goal the whole season, couldnt pass for s*** and could not shoot, but everyone who played lacrosse was the big guy at school. My school even had several pros come out, West Irondequoit is where I am from, Drew Caholon will be going to college next year and is sickk. Lacrosse is such a good sport, I was raised on fishing an soccer, but i sure wish it was fishing, hockey and lacrosse, those are the greatest things ever. -dylan
  17. I might have too, my biggest worry is I am not sure I can feel the difference, so I don't wanna go out and spend all my money on expensive rods and find no difference.
  18. Hmm well this summer I am starting to fish tournys, you think the boaters will let me try out their set ups? And i just bought a AVC70MH rod for jigs and worms, I hope this will show me into a more sensitive fishing atmosphere, all my previous rods were less than $70. What kind of rods do You usually fish with jFrancho?
  19. I am gonna have to try this sweet beaver.
  20. Yeah when I mentioned crankbaits the first thing I thought about was feeling the cover. In terms of upgrading which is more important?
  21. Which applications require a very sensitive rod. ie flippin, jig and worm, spinnerbaits, dropshot, Shaky head, carolina rig, crankbaits, swimbaits, etc Thanks -Dmac
  22. Very well put. If you go out on the water first you worry about everything, my first time was at my local pond where there are alot of trees and casting was very difficult, I stopped baitcasting for 2 months after that. So learn first then go out and fish. -Dylan
  23. Where to I get my 40% off?
  24. They look great, and next to attachments there is a plus, i think you just click that
  25. I am about to order some ***, they got the beaver...wanna split shipping with me?
