  1. I havent seen much problems with braid in water, unless the water you are fishing is super clear I think you will be fine. Although I have caught several bedding bass with 30# braid, the visibility didnt seem to hinder them into biting.
  2. Alright, but still need to find some more fish, I was thinking of sinking some rocks out in the lake to attract fish, would that work? Most of the lake is flat other than a few huge points so I think a rock pile would attract fish.
  3. I am getting a 6'9" for my drop shot rod, with a fast tip.
  4. The avid 7M is on sale for $130 at TW http://www.***.com/descpageRDCSTCROIX-SCASCR.html
  5. for 12 cents a pop or so, its cheaper to get a bunch of shiners isn't it? plus little kids love goldfish I think they would cry if they saw one with a hook through it.
  6. Alright so thinking of buying one of these as my crankbait reel. Seems like a good reel, I just have a few questions. What kind of braking does it have? Also I see it comes with free wiley x sunglasses, which sell for $130, you think it would be reasonable to buy the reel, get the sunglasses and then sell them for ~$100? Sounds like a good idea to me, But will people buy them? If they don't I will be out of alot of money, I searched on ebay and didnt see any other than from stores. Thanks -Dylan
  7. My friend just got a few, they were on sale at BPS.
  8. Does "quite a bit of success" mean one fish?
  9. I heard they are a bit heavier than the rating...I just replaced a 7H in another brand with a 7MH avid.
  10. True Also a positive to flourocarbon is it sinks, so you dont get that "bow" in the line from line floating. This also helps you get a little deeper, and it has good abrasion resistance and if you're crankin around rocks and such it will come in handy.
  11. I just use a backpack, holds 3-4 Boxes and can fill plastic baits as well. I used to carry the big Tackle bag too, but usually ended up hiding it in the woods and walking. IMO they over price "Tackle bags" so i just used the old school backpack
  12. Light line is a blast, I plan on doing 8# and 6# Yo Zuri for my drop shot rig.
  13. Wow that sucks :-[, I would be devastated. Looks like I will be keeping most of my stuff inside.
  14. I bought the BPS Braid Scissors, they work great
  15. Do they have powell rods also?
  16. I think my issue is finding baitfish, but on my lake I am not sure what they are, we have perch and bluegill. But also little minnows but the minnows often swim near the boat and yet I see no increase in catch rate. I know there are plenty of crayfish, and I think that might be their main food source.
  17. I like to hear that it goes well with the Blue TE, makes me want the carrot stick even more
  18. After hearing what everyone has said, I too am thinking about getting a Carrot Stick, they look nice are light and have a great warranty.
  19. Hmmm I think they look pretty good, I like something that sticks out a bit. JMO
  20. Good sales started me out, If there was a reel on sale with good reviews I would buy it, then from there found which brands work better for me. Trial and error.
  21. Looks great, how hard was it to wire the radio in? did it require any circuit breakers or such? As for the trolling motor keep an eye on your local craigslist, I just got a 55# Motorguide bow mount for $90, only used a handful of times and stored for a few years, works great.
  22. You guys are good!, gonna have to buy me a crankin rod, Does anyone have suggestion on the size? either 6'9", 7' or 7'2"...
  23. This just sounds like a match made in heaven ;D
  24. Yeah my outcome is looking similar.
  25. I am talking about the telescopic flipping sticks. To clear things up.
