Pinky on the real seat exposed blank cut out, thumb over top of reel and pointer finger under the line. Move pointer finger on hookset. I fish ever slow moving bait like this. T rig, c rig, jig, etc. It gives me two points of feeling the bite. Through the blank or through the line. It works for me.

Yes, I do this but I do not hold the rod above the reel I palm the reel.

Anymore I can only plan trips when I get time to go. I do not pay all that much attention to the weather.

The space monkey is a good bait. One of my favorite creature baits for a big profile to catch fish. I pitch it a lot in heavy structure. BTW, I dont know what all you are ordering but I'm .75 cents cheaper on almost all Rage products then BPS.

I use the same rod I do for pitching heavy jigs.

I agree with Dreamertino. Also when you move the shaky head do not move the rod to the side. If you do typically it lodges the head into the rocks.

So true. I ride quite a bit. I do not go fast nor do any of those crazy things you hear about. I ride extremely conservative. That does not remove me from an accident but it helps lower my odds.

You might want to check the laws on that. I'm not sure on your state but I know ours.

I can not find gasoline without at least 10% ethanol. I have used it for years and add Seafoam to the fuel. Never had an issue with the hundreds of gallons of fuel i've put through those motors.

For what your describing I would throw a Brush head jig like this http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/index.php/brush-jig. I also make the same head with Owner Deep Throat hooks or XXX strong hook. Knowing who GS is there has to be more to his statement then just what was on that video. Reason I state this is I agree with Raul. I catch a lot of smallmouth in the spring on topwater in still gin clear lakes. Same with spinnerbait fishing.

Last year was an awesome trip. My thumbs took several weeks to heal up. I think I hold the Drum Trophy now also. I hope I can surrender that to someone else on the next trip. I'm hoping to one of the mods.
