  1. One of my go to baits is a Rage Lizard on a 3/16 oz Evolution Shake-2 jighead. This head always lands upright and you can gently rock it back and forth in place without moving it. I've tried just about every bait on it (not tubes though) and they all seem to fit. Another good bait on this head is the Rage Craw. It presents it in a defensive position which puts bass on feed alert.

To quote Frank Barone "Holy Crap!" Were you guiding them Steve? When can I come down?
  3. Flip or pitch baits into any pocket or heavy clump you see. Something different that catches your eye and makes it stand out from the rest. Also burn a Rage Tail Shad over the top. No worries about hanging up unless you hang up on a bass!
  4. For me, the difference is that on the Lizards, all the arms and legs swim on the lift and fall. Name another Lizard that can say that. Same with the Rage Hawg. Brush Hogs arms are just for decoration IMO. They do nothing on the retrieve. Check the video. Then go to YouTube which has clips of just about every bait made. Search your favorite and you will see a difference. On those days when the fish are hitting everything in sight this might not be a big deal, but I like to keep the odds in my favor.
  5. You've got a big heart and patience to match. Sounds like old school almost got schooled. God bless you for taking the time to take him out. I can't even begin to count the number of hours I've spent untangling lines, baiting hooks, unhooking fish etc. but in the end I always get a good feeling.
  6. Yes, all T-rigged. 4/0 Owner EWG Wide Gap Plus hooks. http://www.***.com/descpage-O5139.html 3/16 and 1/4 oz. weight for Roosters. 1/16 oz. pegged weight for skipping the Rage Hawg. These are awesome hooks. (Awesome baits too!)
  7. X2. I'm on the black market for everything else, why not lures? Kidding. 100% No need for black market. They will be hitting the stores this coming Sept. Those of us that were fortunate enough to get a few samples from Big-O at this years road trip are guarding them with our lives though. I'm almost out and only use the in my proven honey holes now. Be the first to get them when they hit the shelves and beat your buddies! Can't say it enough. Big-O is the man! Now if I could only figure out a way to spend some time in the boat with him. ;D
  8. My lake was the same way. Extremely high water this year where the weeds are usually up to the top or laid over even. Give the Rage Shad and Toad a try. I think you will be surprised! They will come up out of the grass and hit these things like they want to annihilate them. Good Luck.
  9. Any of the super expensive Japanese baits. Then I'd sell 'em on ebay and get what I actually use and maybe a new boat with whats left over.
  10. I've had my eye on the 597CI combo for a while. Waiting for it to go on sale.
  11. I understand they will be on the shelves this coming Sept.
  12. Take another look at the video of the Rage Hawg. 1) Arms are actually functional whereas brush hogs arms do nothing. 2) Tail action is much better due to the Rage Tail design. 3) Baits will last longer so cost should not be a factor. 4) Coffee scent. For some reason, bass love this and hang on longer. All I can say is give 'em a try. I don't think you will be using brush hogs for long after.
  13. Try fishing them on any type of football style head or jig. Or try the Evolution jigs Shak-E2 head. Not too many baits actually float up off the bottom. If you work these correctly on the football heads or jigs by rocking them slowly, they will wag their legs up off the bottom and look like a craw in the defensive position which will draw a strike if there is a bass looking at it. The Evo Shak-E2 will land upright and stay that way. These 2 are the only Shakey heads I fish.
  14. Check out the pics of the 2 big boys I got on it last Sunday in the "My Fishing Tournament or Outing" section. Titled "New Rage Tail baits are awsome!" Trust me, once you get your hands on these, you will forget the Brush Hog.
  15. Had the privilege of fishing some of the new RageTail baits this past weekend and Wow! They are Killer. First, on Saturday morn after a hot topwater bite, I tied on a Smokin' Rooster. First cast had a hit, probably a bluegill. After that I probably caught 10 decent fish along the deep weedline. Even got one on the surface as I was cranking it back in to make another cast. What a versatile bait and what action! Sorry about the pic quality as I was by myself. Sunday morning I tied on the Rage Hawg and decided to go dock hopping. Along with several smaller one's I got the 2 big boys pictured. 1 working it back alongside a dock and the big one from under a pontoon boat that was nice enough to park with the front facing out so I could skip the bait under it. What a fight. 1 ½ feet deep. Lots of jumps. I always wondered what those 2 little loops on the front of the brush hog were for. No more. Rage Hawgs have the kicking feet front and back. Big-O, you've done it again. 2 phenomenal baits. Thanks!
  16. Yeah, 2-3 foot breakers on a small lake makes fishing and boat control tough. Baits do seem to hold up pretty well. I brought about 20 home to super glue back together and see how that works. It laid down a bit Sat morn and set up a perfect drift through my favorite pad field.
  17. Or is that Pancakes, , sorry could not resist. I guess I'll never live that down.
  18. X2 Stick with the silicone. Pulsates better on retrieve. Get the kind with a solid collar, not the little piece of rubber holding them togeter. These rot out pretty quickly and you'll be bringing in a bait with no Skirt. On the baits I have that have this type of skirt, I put a small wire tie around the skirt to prevent it from coming apart. Strike King perfect Shirts and Z-Man skirts are great. Terminator brand also. Lumaflex skirts were brought up in a video posted recently and although they do provide flash, they have no movement in the water when retrieved, at least what I have tried.
  19. Most of my bigger fish have come on frogs/ buzzbaits but lately RageTail Shads seem to be the ticket. Skipping Senkos and Ikas under docks and boats always seems to get a couple hawgs each year.
  20. I think he was using a 6" Yum Dinger.
  21. I had the rare opportunity to fish a couple of the new line of Rage Tail baits this pas weekend, specifically the Smokin' Rooster and the Rage Hawg. Man, these are both killer baits. Smokin Rooster gets bites from top to bottom. Rage Hawg will make your Brush Hogs gather dust. Unbelievable action. I will be posting a more thorough review with pics as soon as I get them out of my camera and resized. Look for it in "My Fishing Tournament or Outing" section.
  22. The Crawfish scent was made for Yamamoto Baits for sale in Japan. I was lucky enough to snag a few tubes at Dick's before they sold out. Ghoti- All of mine smell like they are spoiled so I'm guessing that's the norm. New formula does have a distinct dead shad odor but man, does it work!
  23. I actually caught one while burning it in to make another cast. I don't think there is an application where you cannot fish this bait. I will post a more thorough review as I get the Pics out of my camera.
