  1. Haven't tried Basstrix but I've found just the opposite with Berkley. Shadalicious shimmys both head and tail. Berkley like a stick. Maybe retrieve speeds or hooks affect the baits differently. I use Gammie weighted EWG hooks, not the screw in nose hooks. That might make a difference.
  2. Not necessarily Senkos but my top colors are: Pumkinseed/Chartreuse Watermelon/Red+Black Flake Green Pumpkin Baby Bass 5"
  3. I have found the best way to modify a Chatterbait is to swap it for a Pure Poison from Strike King.
  4. Try these: http://www.***.com/descpageHOOKSFALCON-FBJXH.html I have tried the Swimsenko and was disappointed. Not much tail action. IMHO, Shadalicious much better and durable bait.
  5. I should trust my instincts and do the opposite of what Burley suggests, but I am going to Walmart at lunch to get one.
  6. Thanks- I'll give it a shot. I used to have a Bass Tracker unpainted and man the gunk grew on the hull pretty quickly. At least with the painted hull, I got 3 years without growth but have gotten lazy the last few.
  7. Everything else the same, 3/8 will fall slower. :D
  8. I prefer Largemouth due to the variety of ways you can fish for them. I love slop fishing with frogs and skipping baits under docks and boats, neither of which will result in many SMB. As far as catching and fighting, Smallmouth.
  9. Super glue does work but don't touch anything till dry.

Lately I've been leaning to Yum's Vibra King.
  11. You won't be disappointed with anything from the Bionic Blade up. You also might find that a $80.00-$100.00 rod will do the same job or better than a $200.00 rod. I did. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_59070_100002000_100000000_100002000_100-2-0 http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_59070_100002000_100000000_100002000_100-2-0
  12. As Raul said, too many variables. Make yourself a go-to box and put the baits you think you might be using in it and keep it handy. I would lose the braid and go with Mono for topwater and also include a jig for the break you mentioned. Different depth cranks, some soft plastics, some jigs, and a couple spinnerbaits should get you started. Never forget shakey head worms if bite is really tough. Go with your strengths.
  13. Sound like you might be a bit confused. Follow the wire out from the head of the bait and tie to the first semi loop. Doesn't matter where blade is. When you cast and retrieve the bait it will figure out for itself where the blade needs to be.
  14. The guy that made this video is probably going to release the snakehead into the closest lake or pond when it gets too big for his tank. That's how this whole episode got started.
  15. Wow. I've got tears in my eyes. Sorry for your loss. I'm calling my dad right now to see if he'll go fishing with me this weekend. Everything else will have to wait.
  16. I have a painted Aluminum G3 bassboat that I absolutely love. However I do have one problem that is not related to the actual boat. I moor the boat in the water all during the fishing season and it accumulates quite a nasty scumline and crud from the waterline down. Waxing the hull prior to launching helped the first couple years but now only elbow grease or dragging it to a pressure car wash will remove the crud. Anyone else have this problem and any possible solutions/remedies? Spray on, hose off cleaner? Have tried a few but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. BPS by far. The Cabela's by me is a joke. They have about 1/10th in the store of what they have in the catalog. BPS has more. Never had any problems with returns etc. from BPS.
  18. Finally someone spelled his name right! ;D
  19. It's O.K. I do like that he has filmed on some water I have actually been on!

Get a bottle of JJ's Magic in Chartreuse and use a Q-tip for a paintbrush. Works great for color and for an attractant.
  21. 1)Strike King 3X Super Finesse Worm. 2)Roboworm. There are too many good ones to list!
  22. How long do you boil them for? i am about to give up on these anyway, I had faith that they would work for me and gave them a lot of chance last year and this year with not a single bite....I was throwing it again for an hr yesterday with nothing then threw a spinnerbait to the same area and got a 16 incher so, maybe i need to boil that smell out of em...... Maybe for 10-20 seconds. Be sure to use scent also.
  23. Excellent point! I'm sure I'm not the only one that has hooked a piece of clothing and do the same thing. Rotate the hook and press down on it with the barb up. A quick pull usually gets the hook out. Works with pork too.
  24. On the 4.5", I use a 5/0 Gammie 1/8 oz. weighted hook. I would drop down to 4/0 or 3/0 on 3.5"
