Hey guys I've been working on my boat getting it ready for next season. I fixed up my trailer and cleaned the boat. I then filled it with water and ther are a few slow leaks. I could see that it was coming out from were the old paint was chipped and cracked. It is only coming from the jointed areas which allows me to beleive that I can re seal it. I planed on painting it this winter but I want to make sure I get the best seal possible. I am going to pain the inside and out side. Has anyone gone threw this before? What should I use? Is primer and paint enough? Is there a good sealer for Aluminum boats out there?

Hey buddy welcome. When I learned BC reel I went threw the same thing. Just don't give up I almost did twice. I just listened to the fellas on hear and I am lucky b/c I have someone close to me who gave me lessons. With a magnetic brake system I leave it on 8 and adjust the tention knob so if you hold the rod at 45 degree angel and hit the release the bait should fall slowly and when it hits the ground the spool needs to stop. My problem also was not keeping enough of my thumb on the spool so I increased the tention a little to help. More important is the form that you use don't try and throw it far and hard a nice smooth lob is how I learned. I started at 20 to 30 ft. Focus on were not how far. I agree with the trion. I just got my first Trion and I can't put it down. I have the wide spool cranking for now but plan on putting it on al my combos. I will never go back to graphite though I had one and it didn't work well plus I hear the gears go out with a graphite

I plan on learning 6' to start then as I get better go to deeper water. I was thinking a Med/Mod would be good to start.

I use the palmar knot connected to a snap if I am doing alot of switching baits. If you use a spinning combo make sure you have on a barrel swivel to take out the spin in the line.

Hey guy's I am looking to get a rod now for my Trion Cranking BC reel. This will be my first cranking combo I don't know if I should get a Moderater action with Medium power or go to a Fast action Medium power or maybe even Medium Heavy power. I would like to know what most people prefere. Also for Top Water would I use the same rod or at least the same action?

So when they are given 3 days on a lake are they ranked daily or after the whole period fished there? I seen Vandam win and had smaller fish then Hatcher but he had more points is this b/c he did better on another lake or the day before?

Hey guys I've been watching the Bass Master Elite Series and I don't understand how they talley the points. I understand the weight of you 5 best but how do they give the points? Also want to know why on different lakes you see different anglers?

I can cast a 5'' weightless trick stick almost the same distance I can on a spinning set up. The Rapalas have been a struggle to be honest. With the trick sticks I go higher on the tension control. This is the only way I can cast them weightless. At first I was a mess backlash every time but I kept at it like the guy's said and it worked. I still get backlash and birds nest but not as much.

I was having a problem the other evening throwing 3'' Rapalas I think I just need to add some more break in the cast. But I cast weightless plastics, topwater, and jigs just fine with my set up. I have a BPS Xstreme on a Allstar I use Cabelas pro line which is mono at 10ld. I think this is the way to start out it worked for me. I don't really try anything else b/c this is working and the man who taught me knows his stuff. So good luck and enjoy I know the feeling of getting a new combo. Enjoy and keep fishing.

I know. Most folks think Pflueger makes JMEs. In reality, both are OEM'd out to another source. I understand that Pflueger is using a different OEM house now that they've been bought by Pure Fishing. I sure would like the poop on ALL THIS. What do you mean by JMEs & OEM'd? When a larger company buys a smaller do they change all the great things that the company stands for just like the rest of America? I shore would hate to see that happen to BPS and Pflueger. Who is Pure Fishing?
