  3. The Crazy Good News continues ~ Lynn's been back out running the trails with Kya for a week now. I am in total disbelief, ecstatic, but still disbelief. From where she started when she was on a couple of rough roads, to where she is now, is just hard to describe. If you're ever wondered what drives me to stay in shape and get into the home gym every other day, she's pictured below. I'm 15 years older than my wife. It's hard keeping up with Superwoman ! btw- Kya's pretty pumped too. A-Jay
  4. Each and every one of us that chases these little green/brown fish has a special story about how we got started. Many of them have been shared in this forum: including mine. After catching my very first bass, to say I was pretty pumped would be a serious understatement. Of course I didn’t exactly know it at the time (or maybe I did) it was a life changing perhaps even defining moment. Either way, from that point on, bass fishing consumed me. It was all I could think about and I could not wait to do it again. 5 decades later, most of that is the same, except for one deal. I have become semi-obsessed with Big Bass. Both locally & abroad. And if I'm very lucky, every once in a while, I catch one. It Always totally rejuvenates my fishing fever to a most wonderful level. At some point, I expect to be living completely on past accomplishments and reminiscing about The Good Old Days. But don't feel like I'm there just yet, so I keep casting. The latest log went on the fire last just over a month ago. A brown bass over 7 lbs will do that. Every Time. Fish Hard A-Jay
  5. Darn it~ They got me @Glenn I hate it when that happens. A-Jay

  9. Sorry to hear you've been on a tough road but glad to see you floating again. Bet that felt good. Congrats on getting out there and sore lipping those brown bass. A-Jay
  10. You can do whatever you want. Including using no trailer. Josh Jones special. I my world, a properly rigged swim jig has a certain 'waggle' to it as it swims and as it falls; on a tight or slack line. Line size and type, lure speed And trailer size, as well as type ALL PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE. Getting this right, for me anyway, takes some trial and error. I fish swimjigs often, because they get bites, but I’m not always using a paddletail trailer. A-Jay

I am also a big believer in this. I go as far as trying to Almost match my bait color of the bottom or cover I am fishing it in. The bass know it's there. It's their world. A-Jay

When I select any bait that is accompanied by a trailer, I need to feel confidant about the combination. When I do that, I'll often fish it better. Meaning I am expecting to get bites. "Matching" the trailer color to the bait is one way, as is selecting a matching, size, a matching profile and a matching action. Either way, I am a Trailer Using Freak and love finding productive combinations. A-Jay

  16. The new Garmin units can operate at either 36 V or 24 V. When running at 24 V it delivers 80lbs of thrust and 100lbs at 36 volts. A-Jay
  17. No, I don't plan my fishing solely around barometric pressure. Instead, it seems to be one piece of the puzzle that comes into play 'some how'. What that is and how if effects my fishing I haven't quite figured out. In fact, I don't know anyone who truly has. I will say that when I am selecting days I hope to be big fish days, several other environmental factors beyond the BP, seem to effect my results more then BP. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/211811-brown-bass-tools-~-questions-answers/?do=findComment&comment=2893464 A-Jay
  18. Congrats on the New rig ~ ! IMO, If you're running the Force unit, the 100 lbs of thrust you'll get at 36 V vs the 80 lbs offered by 24 v will be a welcome addition on your new and heavier rig. Which depending on the motor you have, a full fuel tank, live well, gear & angler(s) will be pushing 2700 lbs. Compare that to the 16 footer and that's a decent increase. You'll welcome the added thrust in Wind & Waves and if & when quick close quarters maneuvering is required. "My trolling motor has too much thrust" said no one ever. Good Luck. A-Jay

  22. I replaced this mostly Useless OE trailer jack wheel. With this ABT Lures Trailer Jack Skate Totally the way to go. Designed to make tight space maneuverability on a hard smooth surface much easier while eliminating hook up frustration. I can position my rig anywhere in the garage with ease. Also use it to bring the boat to your truck for hook up. It's stupid easy. I remove the pin and put it in the GMC for travel and do not install it again until I get home. Heavy Duty 11 inch Triangular Jack Skate System 6061 Grade Aluminum 525 lb weight capacity Heavy Duty Urethane Wheels w/ swivel casters & a brake. Zinc Coated Multiple Bearings Swivel Casters A-Jay
  23. The 18 ft Lund is on a single and with the 505 lb motor, full tank of fuel, four 31M Batteries & gear, that's about all I want on just 2 wheels. Tows great but I'd imagine it's at the top end of it's abilities. I needed the single due to garage space & maneuverability by hand once it's in there. If I were to go any longer, regardless of hull material, I'd need a bigger storage space but I'd go tandem trailer with a good suspension & brakes. btw - a galvanized trailer is really the way to go IMO. Especially if you're planning on keeping it for the long haul. Good Luck A-Jay
  24. I am going with 8.79 on your ATS scale. I don't have the newest or most electronics. But I'm really confident and effective with what I've got. Come at me Bro A-Jay
