Should have bought a boat - maybe
I have a canoe & a Boat. I don't put the boat in where I use the canoe. And I'd never put the canoe in where I use the boat. A-Jay

Boating Necessities / Must Haves?
Size them up in your driveway and see. If they are not, that's the place to find out. Mine are not. The GMC Truck is 3/4" and the trailer's 13/16th's" thin deep socket. Odd size on the trailer wheel is perhaps a theft deterrent. Especially for the spare tire. Good Luck A-Jay

Boating Necessities / Must Haves?
@tcbass Here's some different types of 'needs YMMV Develop a 'pre-underway' check list that has items you want to make sure you take with you on every trip. Mine has things like food, drinks, wallet, cellphone, and situational awareness. And use it every trip. Develop a hard copy "Float Plan" Needs to include a complete description of you, who you're with, your tow vehicle, boat & trailer including registration number. Needs to note where you are going, when you will be returning and what ramp you plan on using. If it's a larger body of water, which area's you'll be using most. Should also include the contact info & numbers of who you want whichever responsible adult you leave this with, to call in the event you don't return on time. (USCG, Police, Fire Rescue etc) AND IF YOU CHANGE PLANS - let the person know right away. And use it every trip. Develop and stick to a routine when: Hooking and unhooking your rig to your tow vehicle. So it the same way EVEREY TIME. Also when launching & recovering your rig on & off the trailer, do it the same way every time . AND NEVER GET IN A HURRY - If other ramp users are impatient, tell them they should have left earlier. And unless you actually know a person, accepting help from someone, isn't always helpful. Regardless of their good intentions. I just say, 'Thanks, but I'm good'. As for helpful I items. Spare trailer tire. I carry a battery booster for my truck and or cranking battery A couple of tire pressure gages for truck & trailer tire PSI. A Quality Portable air compressor that runs off the truck juice. A Trailer tire jack. Extra trailer tire lug nuts. Also make sure you have the correct socket size for your trailer tire lugs nuts. Sometimes they are some funky sizes. A 'breaker bar' - big help on stubborn deals. Finally when towing my rig on a long haul at highway speed, at any stop where it's safe, (at the lake or at home even) I make sure my trailer wheel bearing are only warm but even better, cool to the touch. If they are smoking hot, like too hot to touch, something's a miss. Good Luck A-Jay

Spinnerbait breakage, normal range of wear and tear?
IMO, you got you're money's worth. The dirty little secret about spinnerbaits is They last quite a while when you don't catch fish on them. However the baits that do get bites - well, not so much. Realistically, the best baits are only a step or two above soft plastics when it comes to 'durability'. The game is, do I replace it or keep fishing it knowing darn well the next big bass that strikes, will snap it in half like the skinny fatigued little metal twig that it is. Good Luck A-Jay

Plenty of coyotes here at the 45th but haven't seen or heard of any wolves yet. Doesn't mean they're not around though. A-Jay

Solar Eclipse
Eclipses have been occurring on Earth since long before humans walked the planet. Throughout time, humans have had different interpretations of and reactions to these striking celestial events. IMO, destructive weather events get my attention because they can actually change lives. These things are mostly just over publicized made events designed to inspire chatter. Sort of like March Madness. They come and they go, and everything pretty much stays the same. But just to be safe, I always wear these . . . A-Jay

Treats For Your Dog
I did the egg yolk thing with all the sled dogs for a while. But I gave it up as I needed a gas mask to get behind them on the sled. Stink city ! Dog farts are no picnic but egg dog farts are just a whole new level. Way back in the day, we took 3 Giant Malamute puppies to a puppy training class inside a small pet shop with about 10 other dogs & owners. They had several eggs before we left. (Granted they were already 50 lbs and it was like a rodeo gone wild) and they cleared the room. By wife never let's me forget that one. Same reason we don't feed fish based foods. They always come out smelling far worse than when they went it. A-Jay

Treats For Your Dog
Been feeding our pack dry dog food for years. Moisten in advance for a few minutes with H20 and they inhale it. We are also fans of positive reinforcement training using 'treats'. But what works for us, is to simply use the same brand of dry food they are eating, just a different flavor as 'treats'. 4 or 5 little pieces of food is all it takes to get the job done. Sometimes it takes a while to find 'the right one' (flavor) especially if you have several dogs. Less expensive than 'treats', easier to keep (inside or outside) in any weather, and while many folks don't want to hear it, far better for the overall health of any dog. While actual Milk Bones seem OK ingredient wise, many off brand Treats are REALLY bad news. We keep these 'treats' all over the place in small containers. At every door leading outside, in side & outside the kennel, and most of all, In Our 'Dog Coat' Pockets. The dogs ALL Learn very quickly where each and every one is. All we need to do is 'shake it' and they come running - full speed. Works wonders for "Leave It" and "Come". Recall is a big deal in the woods. A 40 lb bag lasts 'a while'. Finally, doesn't always work with foster dogs, especially early on. That's when we resort to one of the no doubters - pieces of bacon or hot dog. Only do that to gain trust, then we make the switch; especially if the re-home takes several weeks or months. A-Jay

Is this Spring ordinary or extraordinary?
Been here since the latest catch thread picture thread inception by @Master Bait'r10 years ago. Seems its replaced the Reports thread. Recently folks are dropping entire trip info posts rather than just pic's. Get a clue and stay off my lawn. A-Jay

Agreed ~ And I must admit that when first introduced, I didn't feel like it would attract the caliber of previously successful bassheads that it has. Good on those guys. A-Jay
