No doubt Sprite is the world's leading lemon-lime flavored soft drink. It has a crisp, clean taste that really quenches your thirst. All of that and only 140 calories a can. I've not seen any actual scientifically supported data that indicates pouring it into a bass for any reason offers any benefits; other than the 'bro-science' we've all heard & read. Sure-Life products might be a better option. For example according to the husband and wife team of microbiologists that offer it, with backgrounds in chemistry and biology, respectively. With training and experience in the field of ultra-sensitive aquarium fish, the founders of Sure-Life turned their attentions to keeping tournament fish alive and well. With Sure-Life Catch and Release, you can "keep your fish and your profits alive." One teaspoon of Sure-Life Catch and Release will treat 10 gallons of water, keeping bass calm with an all-natural sedative. It also stimulates and protects slime coating, reduces weight loss by preventing regurgitation, prevents shock and restores electrolyte balance. Catch & Release instantly removes harmful chlorine and other toxic chemicals, boosts oxygen transfer, and protects against post-release infection. Just say'in. 3. Congrats on finding out about the bait you've been looking for. Confidence in a bait can be a very powerful thing. Good Luck A-Jay
  4. @Bluebasser86 Took the words right out of my mouth ~ That is One Fat Bass ! PB's are Always a Blast. That smile ought to last a while. . . . . . Congrats A-Jay

  7. Always wondered how the fishing around that Eiffel Tower was Tom . . . . A-Jay
  8. It's pretty easy to adapt to - and I did the vast majority of it at night- mostly by feel. Simply extending the index finger after the cast to 'catch' the line and then the next turn on the reel handle positions the line squarely on the roller. Going back to a bailed reel seem a bit cumbersome at first - but now, just like then, don't even think about it. A-Jay
  9. Used bailess spinning reels for years chasing striped bass up & down the Atlantic east coast. (Van Staal) Easily adapted to and works well in that application. The power generated with 10 foot plus rods and hurling heavy baits is significant. A sudden & undesirable bail closing on the cast is bad news and eliminated with this design. Simply cutting off a bail can, on some reels, put the unit 'out of balance', making a retrieve pretty wobbly & uncomfortable to fish for any lengthen of time. Much of this may or may not come into play on the much lighter products generally used in bass fishing applications. Food for thought. A-Jay
  10. I'm carrying this one ~ https://no.co/gb70 It rides in the Lund for the entire soft water season and in the back of the 6.2L GMC all winter. Just check the charge on it the other day - still full boost; that's since November. A-Jay
  11. True - but I'm not launching the Lund in anything close to that ~ That's a ton of fun in the right rig though - A-Jay
  12. Nice clip - very nice rig. But that's not "huge water" ~ Barely a 1 foot chop. Clearly few rigs 'ride' well in actual huge water (meaning if the horizon is disappearing every 2 or 3 seconds), Just call if like it is. A-Jay
  13. Yes ~ A-Jay
  14. Seriously considering trimming the Optimax to water level, switching out the Tempest Plus for Mercury's newest (and not invented yet) 'ice auger prop' and driving in reverse . . . . . Yea - that's the ticket Either that or perhaps I could somehow convince the local Explosive Ordnance Disposal Detachment that I have a real need for a MK79 hand held grenade launcher That should get me a little open water at least. A-Jay
  15. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Not guessing. A-Jay

  17. Initially, I'll determine that I need a rig to present a bait or technique. This almost always includes knowing in advance of the purchase where, when & how I'll be fishing it. Type & size of line expected to be used can also dictate rod & reel choice. Then it's just a matter of choosing the right tool for the job. A-Jay
  18. As fans of any spectator sport we have the right & luxury of rooting for our favorites as well as making assessments of the participants actions before, during & after the fact. Other than remaining at and fishing from the dock on the final day, I would not characterize any of these angler's performances as choking; far too many variables involved. At that level, seems like anyone of these guys could win and the difference between being at the top of the leader board (and especially staying there) and finishing somewhere else, is often very slim. It's one of the aspects of these derbies that I really enjoy & can appreciate and what may make winning back to back so improbable and impressive. On a separate note - the BASS LIVE streaming of these tournaments is SO GOOD, (especially this one) that it makes me wonder how I ever enjoyed the 'edited' TV version 2 weeks later . . . . . A-Jay

  20. Nice Bass Congrats A-Jay
  21. No Doubt ~ I have a few fishing hats older than that . . . . A-Jay
  22. Congratulations to The 2018 Bassmaster Classic Champion ~ Jordan Lee Only the third angler to win the Superbowl of bass fishing back to back. He kept his head down, adapted to the constantly changing conditions, “fished hard and had fun”. This one was a blast to watch live. A-Jay
