  1. Shoutout to the South Bay. Welcome Bryan to Bass Resource and the Forums!
  2. I think I’ve still got one of those floating around somewhere. When you look at the technology and games out there now, in my youth I coulda saved a small fortune in quarters between pinball and video games....
  3. I know there are an awful lot of firefighters and first responders, not to mention homeowners down in So Cal who would love an hour worth of that white stuff. Great photos and Merry Christmas everyone, JB
  4. Glad I checked in today.... Michael C, Outdoor Specialist has a nice ring to it. Congratulations Michael on your new position and I hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas. JB
  5. Beautiful, healthy trout NorCal, judging by it’s fins it sure doesn’t look like a planter!
  6. Not if you ask that question to a 9er fan the last couple of years... however, Jimmy G didn’t look too bad against Chicago today. #trusttheprocess
  7. Welcome to the Forums and Bass Resource RCL1961
  8. Congrats on your son being stationed at M.C.R.D. and his new assignment. Unfortunately, I’ve never fished in that part of California, but I’m sure light line and the drop shot might come into play. I suggest posting your question in the Western Bass Fishing section and I’m sure the So Cal guys will be able to help. Good luck and good fishing, JB
  9. IndianaFinesse, I’ve got to agree with Logan that 300 bass on the original, stock hooks is crazy and his recommendations. And given the set up you’re throwing the 110’s on, it’s perfect IMO for throwing the Vision. Until I dialed in on what to throw my 110’s on, I was putting a lot of pressure on the Katsuages which I eventually had to replace. This was probably due to I had previously only thrown Lucky Craft, which I’m sure you’d agree have beefier hooks. I believe the Katsuage hooks outbarb design was to prevent the scratching of the thin layer of paint on the 110. I was also concerned heavier hooks might inhibit the action of the 110. I was surprised Tackle Warehouse didn’t have the Katsuages, but I was able to get em on eBay from a vendor in Japan at what I considered a reasonable price. Funny thing is, after replacing a couple hooks I still haven’t needed to replace any other hooks on my 110’s.
  10. Thanks DogBone, couldn’t have said it better. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
  11. Epic video A-Jay of your trip! Thanks for sharing what I’d consider to be a trip of a life time cause I’m still shaking my head as I type this.... Wow!
  12. Hello deepiper, welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums!

  16. MossyBackDaddy, welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums!
  17. Thanks for the reply TS. Only one word comes to mind.... “Winning”!
  18. Now I know where that softball I hit in the lake went ?. Beautiful, healthy fish Team9nine!
  19. turkey sandwich, I enjoyed the narratives and all the photos you and others submitted of those big browns. Glad that long awaited day on the water payed off. In your above response to Bluebasser86 regarding the White River, you mentioned having Alaska was on your on the calendar. If you’re going for steelhead and haven’t booked your trip, I’d like to suggest Westcoast Fishing Adventures. They fish the Skeena River out of Terrance, British Columbia and cater to fly fishermen. If anything, just looking at number of large steelhead in the photo gallery on the website is impressive. Continued good fishing, JB
  20. Beautiful rig BasserJim, and IMO a perfect example of how the finer things can make our time on the water pursuing those little green fish even more enjoyable. And whlle you are enjoying your time on the water with that sweet set up, some of us will be trying to figure out how to get our little slice of Rod and Reel Heaven ?. Good fishin, JB
  21. It’s my understanding Dobyns first rod line release was based on the Powell Rods as he was once on their staff. Both the Powell 734C and and the Dobyns FR734C are comparable, and I’d have to agree with Tom, the Dobyns offering is closer to Sifuedition’s price point. Good fishing all, JB
  22. Sifuedition, while you’re on the Tackleware site, I’d suggest taking a look at the Powell 3D Max line of rods. On sale at roughly $15 more than your current two candidates. They are very good rods and might be what you’re looking for. I have a 734 and 735 paired with original green Curados, that I had tuned up about 5 years ago. I can chuck a plopper 110 and 130 a mile with them, not to mention frogs, buzzbaits, various other top water and bladed baits. BTW, Bassresource released a video on the new Curado rods and made mention of the new reels if you’re interested.
  23. If that question was for me the answer is “nope”.
  24. Guidewear is good stuff Oregon native, and nothing like being warm and dry when it’s cold and rainy. I’ve had mine Guidewear for over 10 years and seasonally spray it with a water repellent treatment. Some good shoes to keep your feet warm and dry and you’re set. Good luck out there, JB
  25. I was in the same boat, with the same problem turkey sandwich, which is frustrating. I use an iPad, and got some help from my daughters boyfriend in solving this problem. He suggested I email the photo I want to post to myself, I can resize it prior to sending the email. I can the save the photo from that email without using another medium or outside host. I haven’t had any issues to this point. Hope this helps you and other members, JB
