  1. Oh man,....we're here Fish4Dollars. Me, speedbead and massmike are at my house. We are keeping you in our thoughts. Stay strong.
  2. with the frequency of roughly once a year, I will.... -cast a rod over board -step on a pair of sunglasses -Hook myself -break a trolling motor -tie on a jig, bite the tag line (or was that the main line) and throw the jig overboard. Never to be seen again. Oh,.... although fruit and granoila is a healtheir alternative, I'm w/JP,.............. Venison and eggs, leave the toast on the floor.
  3. Amen!! Stringjam for President!! ;)
  4. RI, top 10 for skinniest,.....I swayed the curve on this one,lol.......
  5. I don't have any model specific info but if you are in no hurry, take your time and go hold a bunch of rods. There are lots of options out there for low,low money that provide excellent performance for the $$ but your comfort with the gear will be a very large factor in your confidence with it. Go shop and post your findings before buying in case you have chosen a product with previous issues that some of the folks here could advise you on. That's my advice, Good luck.
  6. Only you can form your own opinion on this. How? Start casting. I personally feel that color won't be a factor in keeping me from achieving my goal, whatever that may be. On this note, I'm happiest when I use all the colors at once, which would be called "Black" and as we all know....................Black is beautiful
  7. RM- yes to the bouyancy aspect but I am just looking to reduce or add "wake" and am doing "comparisons" with the previous proto-types so as long as the control bait is in the same type of water, I should be able to tell if the new one is throwing more or less wake than the previous one. Had this not been the case, your observation would have saved me from wasting a bunch of time as I had not considered this aspect. Thank you sir. Thanks for the replies guys. 8-)
  8. Just an announcement to let y'all know that we are holding our annual CFK event here in Providence at Roger Williams Park, Temple of Music, from 9-1, this Saturday, Aug 23rd. If anyone wants to come down and check out an event, we'd be happy to see you. I may put you to work but I think all the bases are covered, lol. It's nice to meet board members and a CAST event is just a great venue to do so, so come on down and have a burger with us. On a related note, there are members who have been on board since the beginning and you can also meet them too. Tin, Matt 5.0, Stratosdadri, Basshole, etc. A few new guests/members that will be there this yr also include, mass mike, and my house guest (arriving today, wooHoo) Speedbead! Can't wait to see the boys and hope a few more of you decide to drop on by to say Hi. Thanks, Russ
  9. Yaaaaaaaaaawn, always has some sort of excuse! Fine I will now have to hold a special Spring "LBH" T(for the catching challenged) ;D . Russ picks the date, I pick the lake Watcha gonna come up with now? : Odds are,....A check. Keep yapping. maybe THIS will help Why thank you Russ,it did help. Holy carp dude :-?that's alot of time invested! Hat's off to you! Wait? How can you possibly be in all these places at once? They've got events on the same dates at different ends of the country. So, it didn't really hep me at all, just more confusion? :-/ Knowing this is the last event of the year:Lake Conroe Montgomery TX 10/18/2008 I guess it will have to be The " LBH" Catching Challenged Frrost Bite T " on the 10/25/08, Lake to be determined Sorry, should have explained. That's not MY schedule, it's the overall CAST schedule. I come in where there are multiple events on the same date or when they are back to back (sat/sun) and Art would not be able to get to the Sunday event on time. I'll do one, Art will do one, Tom will do one, etc. Normally, I would just do the ones on the east coast. Spring time, I'm wide open bud. Not big on tournaments but I am big on supporting friends ideas so.......let's go fishin'!!
  10. Mike, you should have this on NYB. Lots of those guys are geographically, "right there" already.
  11. A dull moment? On YOUR boat? Doubt it,lol.
  12. I'm with you Paul,...these larger baits still catch ALL size fish, it's just that they also are very attractive to the largest ones. Often.
  13. Some good advice here. My input would be to not let the fact that some passion is missing, add more stress to your life. Having passions is a blessing, if some are stronger than others at times, just be thankful that there are still other things, like hunting, that are available to you for some "me" time. Some folks are passionate about nothing. I truly feel for these folks. So, don't sweat it, let it be whatever you need it to be.
  14. You can drag pretty much anything across pads/weed and get hit. They are swinging at the action, not the actual lure. They are driven much more by the fact that there is a critter scrambling than what color or shape the critter is. Free food is free food. Unfortunately Andrew, the act of fishing on top of vegetation is one of the oldest, most common presentations out there. No Nobel this time around bud but keep pluggin'!! ;D
  15. Too well,lol.
  16. With all the bad examples in this world, it's nice to be reminded of the good. Selfless, courageous, an example for all he touched and I'm sure that was an entire town and now, an entire country. Rest in peace John
  17. The only ones you have ever got are from UPS. You got that backwards son,...I've made more money fishing than you have at UPS. Let's keep it real. :-?
  18. I have the Bay right at the bottom of my street and I want to test some of the new proto-type baits, can I throw these in the salt with the stx or do I have to make the haul to the lake?
  19. If no takers,......CAST event, just a thought. (I even have 2 full blown bass boats dedicated for media)

  21. Zel, you're unbelievable man!! Now don't be intimidated, if you aren't good with artwork but have a catchy slogan,....spit your rhyme man! Let's hear it.
  22. try everything and see what works for you but my favorite retrieve is slow and steady and my second favorite is slow and steady with some pauses.
  23. Ryan, I see you reading, why don't you come up and use big red
  24. Coolers w/ aerators work Mike. I'm at Lake Powell, Az. the 13th and Table Rock, MO. on the 28th Very tough time of yr for me.
