  1. Don't have a local Academy but I stocked up on some tackle online, thanks for the heads up.
  2. Cool, will probably grab a 6.3:1 for my 1.0 and 1/4 oz Rat-l-trap specific rod.
  3. Not a huge fan of the way round reels look but that combo is sexy.
  4. I'm going to potentially pick one or two of these up but don't know what I'll use them for. I see they are designed towards lightweight/finesse but I really don't need a finesse or lightweight BC reel. I guess I could put a lower ratio on my Avid rod I use for small 1.0 squarebills? I need a new reel for my 734c I just got but will probably use a Curado K that is laying around since it's a workhorse, spinnerbait/buzzbait/small swimbait rod. What do you use yours for?
  5. What size Keitechs are you all using, and what head. I've got a new 734C rod I plan to throw spinnerbaits/buzzbaits and small hollow body swimbaits on.
  6. I'm confused by this post. There are quite a few quality reels to be had for $100-$125.
  7. Man, I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing a Helium 3 when they could be had less than $200 over the Holidays. I haven't fished one but it will more than likely be my next jig/T-rig rod.
  8. I just ordered a 734C before the TW sale ended so I'm looking to have a spinnerbait, chatterbait, buzzbait on board the yak at all times.
  9. Looks like they're setting in here soon as they're calling for snow this weekend. I was lucky enough to get out on Sunday for a few hours, high was 60. Fishing was tough but man it was great to be out there in January.
  10. Same as most others, 2 brakes on, then adjust tension so it barely drops.
  11. I use YZH on my spinning outfits, never tried it on my baitcasting setups. I use 6lb on my Ned Rig and weightless Senko setups and it's been great.
  12. Cool, thanks for the reminder. I'll set the DVR tonight.
  13. I've got a St. Croix Avid 70 MM and have yet to use it as I use my Legend Glass for all my crankbaits. I bought the Avid used on a whim but would like to use it as a dedicated crank rod. So, KVD 1.0's, and 1/4-1/2 oz. lipless? Or what do you suggest?
  14. My primary goal is to spend more time on the water, secondary goals are on the backburner until the primary goal is achieved.
  15. It's not April 1st is it?
  16. All of my rods I yak fish are 7'-0" and shorter with the majority of them being 6'-8", and I use the sidearm cast 90% of the time.
  17. How do you like the Seaguar finesse? Thinking about using it on my ned rig setup.
  18. Not "high end" per say but I just bought a Dobyns 692sf from TW as it was too good of a deal to pass up. It will be paired with a Ci4+ and it's going to be my primary ned rig setup. It's probably replacing a Loomis GL2 802S I currently use for my Ned rigs. I don't know which rod I'll like more but the other will be relegated to a backup as I only carry one spinning setup in the yak. I've never owned a Dobyns spinning rod so I'm pretty pumped to get it and put it to the test. Here's a thread I started earlier this week. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/211466-dobyns-sierra-spinning-vs-loomis-gl2/
  19. Wow, first I've heard of the Rico. There were a LOT of colors available and all gone. So, someone school me on the Rico please.
  20. Agreed, but reading it has put a huge smile on my face on this crappy Monday. ?
  21. That would be a nice problem to have, lol. 500 within an hour?!? Wow I guess my advice is to just make a list and start fishing! You'll find a good spot eventually.
  22. I'll add my .02 to this topic, although I could be totally wrong. I am a self proclaimed St. Croix fanboy and own several Avids, Mojo Bass and a glass CB rod. I'm currently shopping for a new T-rig/Jig rod (currently using a 68 MH/F Avid and it has been great but I want something different. I handled an Avid X 70 MH/F and 70 M/F in store and yeah, way too tip heavy and unbalanced. Now here is where my opinion could be way off but handled a Dobyns Fury 71 MH/XF along with the Avid X and the Dobyns was much more balanced and lighter. Granted I didn't have a reel on it but just holding the two side by side I felt the Dobyns was a better rod, and not to mention cheaper. YMMV........
  23. Wish I could help, but unfortunately still waiting on the LH retrieves to become available. Ugh.
  24. I tie direct.
