if youre just starting off id recommend bitsy bug jigs. maybe 1/4 green craw color with a small matching craw trailer (netbait paca craw, yum craw papi 3") these jigs catch alot of fish of all sizes and are very cheap.
  4. depending on your budget, id go with the following in 2500 size shimano sahara, shimano saros, daiwa tierra, shimano stradic or daiwa fuego
  5. what lighting are you using on your aquarium? looks great
  6. x3 for peat moss what is your ph currently? are you using ro water? some stores will sell you some if you dont have a ro filter and you can do a good water change. this would suck if you have a large tank though...
  7. 3/8 oz jig 1/4 oz finesse jig 6" t-rigged worm white spinnerbait ratLtrap or other crankbait senko shakey jig drop shot
  8. you can get the bsr854 glx for $283 shipped from ohya.com but it might be a bit long for skipping....
  9. short rods are better for skipping baits. i like shorter rods when im in a canoe as well.
  10. not important at all to me. although i wouldnt buy a pink rod or reel.
  11. i like to a friend along every time
  12. .dsaavedra. - i just bought a house with a creek running through the back and plan on setting up an 180 gal aquarium. i bought an ultralight rod and plan on keeping some of the smaller panfish and maybe a baby smallmouth. what do you feed those guys to keep them happy and healthy?
  13. 2500 is the reel size, IMO perfect for bass fishing. id suggest spinning reels, shimano or daiwa. i hear berkley lightning rods are a good value in your price range. because you are going to cabela's maybe you can check out there brands of rod. id get something between 6'-7'. i think in-line spinners (mepps, blue fox, panther martin, worden's) are perfect beginner baits. they will catch alot of different type of fish including bass and panfish. just cast them out and reel them in.
  14. you heard it kids, global warming is a myth the earth is 6000 yrs old and the walking worm is banned in tournaments
  15. ive stopped at a green light a few times.
  16. i dont think hippies are allowed to drive hooks through the faces of fish for fun but i could be wrong...
  17. ive bought a few after reading the great reviews on here. havent had a chance to try them yet.
  18. id put them on a skirtless jighead, maybe a stand up or shakey jig.
  19. i fish them around cover mostly, where youd toss in a jig. i go with same colors i use for other plastics: green pumpkin, watermelon, black
  20. thin mints and samoas are the deal
  21. id do this: shallow, very very tight to cover. big black jigs w/rattles. bang big chartreuse colorado blade/chartreuse skirt/grub trailer spinnerbaits on everything.
  22. ive been doing a trick similar to yours, fourbizz, called wake and bake.
  23. id look at citica or curado for the reel. id use it for heavy jigs, c-rig, heavy spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. might not be ideal for swimbaits but you could toss some light ones maybe... probably make a good catfish and striper rod too.
  24. ive been using 6# yo zuri US with 3/16oz weight. im going to be trying berkley 100% fc soon if i can get it to behave on my spinning reel with kvd l&l
  25. all of mine are front drag
