  2. That's awesome news! Congratulations!
  3. The whole west coast got hit by winter's icy grip on Dec 26. From Northern CA to Canada, snow fell and temps dropped. I haven't seen temps above 27 degrees in 5 days at my place. Overnight lows are ....Antartica. Our daytime highs have been lower than Iceland. 12" of snow hit my house in 8 hrs. 3-6" inches forecasted overnight. You guys are just beginning to get it. The good news is that daytime temps are finally going to reach above freezing on Saturday. Still will be low 20's overnight. But it's a start. And they're expecting heavy rainfall on Monday....which means flooding as the snow melts with it too.

  5. Glad you're safe! Yup, I can see that happening. You have to have your head on a swivel when you're running, be it in a kayak or a glass blaster, or anything else. With the recent rise in popularity of watersports, this is never more important than now, as there are many more inexperienced boaters out there now. It's to the point I just assume everyone out there isn't paying attention, and act accordingly. Defensive driving at its finest. It's also why I made this video. Everyone thinks they don't need this information, until they do. Then it's too late.

Tubes, tubes, TUBES! One of my favorite baits. I've been fishing them hard since the mid-80's. So I made a bunch of videos on them. I won't list them all here, but here's a few to get you started:
  7. Ya, it's fixed. But the PR mess and their reputation isn't. I don't think it will be too long before we get a more thorough explanation and response from TW.
  8. Using wobble head jigs for cold water bass is what this video is about. Mike McClelland explains what it takes to get those fish to bite, plus shows off a new hybrid swing head design that's extremely versatile.

I know things are difficult right now, but I also know you’ve got what it takes to get through it. The next chapter in your life is going to be amazing. Keeping you close in my thoughts, today especially.
  11. Fact? Let's not let armchair quarterback speculation somehow become "fact". It's possible they weren't aware of it until now. Or some other reason. Not sure. But what we DO know, is that we don't know what caused the delay, nor can anyone speculate as to some sort of devious motivation where there is lack of of said explanation. Making up stuff doesn't cover up the FACT that we do not know what caused the delay.
  12. Be as honest as you'd like. Nobody is holding you or anyone back. Our partners have thick skin. They're big boys. The moment somebody makes it personal, or gets upset and angry, or starts taking jabs at other members, then that's when the moderators step in. Treat others with respect, that's all I ask.

    And back on topic please....
  14. Ever since I was a kid, I liked to take electronics apart to figure out how they worked. Radios, walkie-talkies, toasters, electric drills, you name it. Then computers caught my eye. I wrote an essay on Cray-1 supercompters in jr high. Learned Basic and a little bit of Cobal and Fortran in high school. My friend had a Trash80 and I a Texas Instruments computer where I learned DOS and played text-base games. In college, I was all over USENET and networks; and I took a typing class - I was the only guy in a class of 35. When the web hit in the early 90's, I taught myself html, javascript, web design, and usability. Launched BassResource, then went to work at Microsoft where I learned more object-oriented languages and XML, as well as different protocols like mms, tcs, and others while working on over 50 websites. Then I worked for T-Mobile on their web team and learned all about cell phones as well as emerging web technologies and development methodologies such as AngularJS and Agile. Now I work at another company's web team that is growing in leaps and bounds. Still learning every day. Bought a lot of computers along the way. Been a fun ride, and it's not over yet. Technology is ever-changing (just found Bluetooth light bulbs on Amazon yesterday - WHY????). While the promise of a paperless office has never really reached fruition, many other technologies and breakthroughs have come along that none of could ever imagine way back when. Looking forward to the future!

I think you'll learn a lot from this article: https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/float-n-fly.html
  16. I have the original, and it's warm and comfortable. Well made. Most of my outdoor gear is high-end Simms apparel, and I'd rank the original Reaper right on par with that.
  17. Full spool of braid, no filler, no slipping. Done deal. Here's how.
  18. Given the chains and coupler are rusted, and the hitch painted, I'd get on my back and check the underside of that hitch (and entire trailer), not only for rust, but for cracks and stress areas. Also check the ball receiver to ensure it's not oblong on the inside. Hitch balls are often made of stronger metal than the receiver, and it can grind it into oval, or widen it out like a melon baller to the point it's not safe to use, and must be replaced. Using hitch grease prevents that from happening, but many folks don't use it.
