Good reply Sam! On my home lake a bit of wind, especially during the day is a good thing, Fishing always seems better on those days than on mirror glass days. Also since it is a trolling motor only lake, a good light wind can really help you save your batteries with a good drift speed

My best experience was with the Browning Silaflex with glass. I have to say after doing the whole thing a good med/fast 6'6" graphite rod ( for me a Cabelas Fish Eagle II I got on sale for 30 bucks) does the job just as weel, and a lot lighter and easier to cast

EXCELLENT ADVISE: JUST DO IT! Thats how I learned. Keeping a steady retrieve hepls, and after a while you will learn how to pull them off and your bait loss will go down.

I have never once , after many years of use had to take a Fenwick back. I broke one because I left it in a shaed that was demolished, I do not think that was their fault, I would rather have a rod that I didnt have to use a warranty for I did my own warranty deal, I gave them all away and went back to Fenwicks and Cabelas rods.
