Thanks Jeff, I don't know one guide from the next, I don't get into things that deep. I buy what works, and I do not care about warranties, the rods i use never break so thats not an issue. I am trying to keep it Low Budget and Functional. Dominick

I believe he is relatively new and is mistaken what ever oxide or ceramic insert they use. Might as well be plastic on those Premiers :-/

You are not being a smart *** at all, I wonder the same thing. I have gone through several , on the spinning rods it happened on the stripper guide and on the tip guide. On the BC rods , even one i got from Senko 77, the threw the tip guide. Usually stuff like this is user fault, and if it was my fault i would admit it, but it isn't DID NOT HAPPEN WITH MY OTHER RODS OR THE TRIUMPHS! :-[ :-/ I tried it one too many times, I do not know why the same guides ( Brand) are on my Cabelas Rods with no issues.

That is why I got rid of all my St.Croix Premiers and will never buy one again. There are guys here who swear this problem doen't exist, well there is another guy with this same issue. I will stick with my Fenwicks and Cabela Fish Eagle II's they are 20 bucks less and much better. 8-) I f you want to stay with St.Croix, and not go to the Avids then get a Triumph, despite what the purists say, it is on the same blank, but it is made overseas. 70 bucks and no issues with the guides that I have experienced ( I got rid of the 2 I had, as gifts) and they were better built than those Premiers.

Hey Luca; My Grandfather was born in Napoli,grew up in Sicily, by Siracusa, then back to Napoli where my Dad was born. then they came to South Brooklyn in America. I was in Italia and Sicily for most of 76, and I miss all those great spicy and smoked pork products, that cost as much as gold 8-)

WRONG LEAUGE! Rays in the AL, and Madden is gonna probablly get it there. Cubs are in the NL. They give out one for each league. I never bought the argument that the manager with the best players has it an easier than those with mediocre players See NY METS last year, best bull pen, lead in many offensive catagoories and big names, and they watched the play offs and series on TV La Russa has been through it, Torre has been through it and God knows Cox has been through it.
