He uses 17# test Trilene exclusively and his ratio is 2/5. I am confused as which way to go. I think I will stick with the mono for now, and if frustration takes me there , I will try some braid Thank you for all your input

I had the same issues when fishing walk the dog and Jitterbugs, topwater Solution 6 ft med action Baitcasting rod, problem solved. Get the shortest handle you can, that also helped.

For me jiggin is an upclose affair, so 1/2 way across the lake casts are counter productive. My current jig rod 6'6" MH/fast Cabelas Fish Eagle II baitcaster, 80 bucks normally and I got last years model( They put a new reel seat on this year) for 40 bucks!!!!!!

Hey Fellas: You gotta hear this fellas; Sharkbite ( a BassResource.com member now) was on our give it forward trip. HE NOW HAS THE BASS FISHING OBSESSION BIG TIME He learned how to baitcast , and has been learning a lot from Roadwarrior That trip, I do not think he slept more than 3 hours in 3 days!!! HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP: Sharkbite being brought back at 3:25 am in the morning by the Fish and Boat police because he was fishing with his Fishing Lic but no Stae Pic ID, and we had to get him off the Lake about the same time on another night; He was on a pitch dark lake, in an inflatable raft>>>no navigation lights, he had 2 MAGLIGHT, flashlights.
