First check
Finished high enough yesterday to get my first tournament check! This is the first tournament series I have participated in. While I do it purely for the pleasure and learning experience, I must admit, it feels great to get a check at the end of the day!

fishin some weeds
I like to fish crankbaits in weeds and rip em out when they catch the weeds.

Is fishing harmful?
I've never had a fish complain to me, so, I'm gonna have to say it doesn't hurt em.

rod for every type of fishing
Roadwarrior hit it on the head, you only "need" three....good luck with that! I've got one for every application, that being said, I was asked to go out this weekend for a 1 hour trip on the lake. I only grabbed 2 rods and 1 plano box, had my best night yet. You can definitely over think it. I didn't have the option to switch back and forth. But, sometimes you gotta have options.

Need help fishing spinnerbaits
I've watched the video Glenn did a half a dozen times, one of the best I've seen. Love those lumiflex skirts he uses too!

I need some new clothes...
columbia Omni-dry gets my vote, you can catch them on sale at a decent price. Well worth it. I wore mine this weekend in 90 degree weather, still got hot, but my shirt did not stick to me, they vent really nicely.

Powell rod for spinnerbaits?
I bought a Powell 683 C spinnerbait rod a few months back. It's 6'8'' rated for 1/4-3/4 oz spinnerbaits. I love the rod. I think the Powells are excellent and they are very reasonably priced.

Pond in my yard full of Bass
A pond in your backyard! Do you have a supermodel living next door too. Lucky!!! As stated above sounds like too much competition for forage, thin the heard if ya get the go ahead. As far as how many to take out, I wouldn't know, but I'll bet you someone on this site will chime in.

New Video! Mike Iaconelli!
Nice work, thanks Glenn

Drop shotters.....gather around!
Five bass limit, I also fish Smith Mtn a lot. Drop shotting is probably my most used technique there. All that clear water and high pressure from fishing and boat activity. I can often fish the back of the boat with my partner throwing cranks or something else and clean up. Especially around all those docks up there. I like to start with the first dock post and work my back.

casting accuracy?
Sounds like your pretty accurate to me. I also practice casting to spot in the backyard, about the size of a hula hoop. I practice my pitching standing on the tail gate of my pickup truck (to mimic being on the boat) and pitch to a 5 gallon bucket. Lately I've been practicing my roll casting for my buzz bait, spinner bait applications. I rarely get them all in the spot I'm casting for, BUT my percentage is consistently getting higher. I"m convinced, an accurate cast will yield a higher catch ratio.

I LOVE SHIMANO!!!
You're gonna LOVE that Core/Cumara combo, light as a feather and smooth as butter!

Need advice!!
Try some topwater, especially around dusk, my PB came out of a pond at dusk on a G-splash. Good luck.

I've Gone Wacky, and I'll Likely Never Be the Same...
Wacky is my favorite pond technique, hard to beat. If you start getting hung up around brush with the hook exposed thru the middle, you can texas rig it weightless and get the same results.

I need a name for my boat.
I always thought "Wet Dreams" would be cool.

Yesterday At Smith Mountain Lake
I know you said that you don't eat a lot of fish, but, I'd rather eat a stiper than a fliet mignon. You gotta try it dude. This is definelty the time to hook up with some of those fighters at Smith Mountain right now, I'm hoping to load the freezer with some, I usually end up catching the ones not in the slot limit for some reason. Great story, thanks for sharing.

Question about Jigs
I've caught em both ways. Lately I've been using a black and blue jig with a pumkin colored money craw
